I am a lifetime Platinum Elite Bonvoy member. I stayed at the Crabtree Valley Residence Inn with my wife for business from 6/9/2024-6/21/2024. There were definitely some goods and plenty of bads with our stay. Full disclosure, this property NEEDS a refresh, as there are a lot of little things that need attention. I was informed that they were starting a major update in August of 2024. First the bads: we ended up being in two different rooms and when I say different, it is because there was no continuity with the kitchen accessories. Between the two rooms we might have had a fully working set of kitchen utensils. They had three luggage carts and only one of them was worth a darn. I made sure to look for that one when I needed to move my luggage. I had to put the hot water knob in four different spots 4 days in a row so I could get hot water in the shower. The water was hot though. I thought I had a tv remote with bad batteries, but it ended up that several of the buttons were not working. When I went to the front desk to ask about batteries, they had a drawer full of remotes in various condition, so I decided to keep what I had.
Now for the Goods: the staff was very friendly and wanting to help as much as they could, I just feel that they were limited on what they were able to do because of the age of the property. The hot breakfast was excellent with a variety of hot and cold options, on Sunday they had biscuits and gravy even. The location next to the Crabtree Valley mall was nice. They had several shaded parking spots which was nice with the heat wave they had during our stay. Many people took time to enjoy the pool and I even saw someone using the grill that was available.
In summary I feel that this property will be good again after it is refreshed. For a short stay I would go back, but for a long stay where you want to be able to use a full kitchen, I would be wary. As a result, I have made a reservation at another property for when I am returning to Raleigh for 19 days in July. I look forward to seeing this property again after...
Read moreMy family usually stays here when we come to town which is often and When we stay we get the 2 bedroom suites with the fireplace it makes our stay feel a little more homie. The rooms are normally clean that's why I dont understand what was happening when we checked into our room I did my walk through like i always do,the microwave was very nasty looked as if someone had warm spaghetti up in it several times the kitchenette area wasn't swept, floors wasn't vacuum still had gray tape and party strings on the wall, I pulled back curtain in living room area there was an empty water bottle sitting in window pane also a maxi pad on the floor. In one of the bedroom there was a empty mountain dew bottle behind the bed candy and candy wrapper on the floor also there was a nasty looking stain on the wall oh yea and the refrigerator the freezer part looked as if it needed to be defrost chunks of build up ice all over. I called down to the front desk they apologized and quickly put us in a different room still a two bedroom suite this one had no fireplace, there was a used napkin on top of the refrigerator and blood stain on the bathroom door. We ended up staying because it had been a long day for us we were all tired and just wanted to take a hot shower and call it a night! I really hate we had this experience because we all really like to stay here and like I said its usually clean but two dirty rooms in one night during the covid19, I just dont know if my family will use this particular Residence...
Read moreWe were staying at your hotel due to a family crisis, so my stress levels were high. We were invited by the front desk person to enjoy free drinks and snacks at the mix event around 6. At other hotels I have stayed at, the happy hour included all types of drinks. There were no signs on the bar about the rules for this event. I ordered two gin and tonics from the bartender expecting them to be covered. When she asked for payment, I was taken aback. I explained that I did not intend to pay for $20 for two drinks. This was already an emergency situation and we were not happy about having to cover the unexpected expense of a hotel. She was not sympathetic and refused to take the drinks back unpaid for. There were other guests present, and I was made to feel embarrassed, so I paid for the drinks and left. The next day, I complained to the front desk and they were not sympathetic either. No refund or credit was given. At the very least, better signs need to be displayed; honestly, it felt like a scam to get people to pay for expensive drinks. The bartender also could have asked me if I realized these were not free drinks. As I mentioned, I am going through an extremely stressful time right now and this further added to my stress and frustration. My mother owns two Marriott vacation properties and I always choose Marriott when I have the choice. I know that it seems like a small offense, but something like this makes you reconsider a brand's loyalty to...
