Made the reservation 3 weeks before the date, that went great, even calling 24 hrs before to reserve my Birthday strawberries with a free coupon they sent, the gentleman on the phone was delightful and said this is common and they would be waiting for me when we cash out and even wished me a very happy Birthday! So cool! Before we even chose options I ordered a $12 glass of wine, at 6:55 p.m. The food was better than okay at the end, will explain. Our starter course with a fruit and veggies and breads was bare with choices. An abundance of carrots, so many carrots, 1 piece of cauliflower, 2 pieces of celery, green apple chunks, and then pretzel slices with stale white bread chunks. We had 4 people and had 2 cheese choices and even though they were different options we had the same boards. I have never dipped carrots into cheese, it was strange, is that normal? We did not like it and did not eat the most of them, sadly. We would have smashed broccoli, cauliflower, and many other veggies and/or other dark or sourdough bread options too. I expected different types of bread for different cheeses but, we ate most of it so it was fine, just wanted to mention we got way too many carrots. The salad course was great, 4 options and we were all satisfied there, thank you because they all fit each of our pallets perfectly! I hate parmesan for example and my option was free and clear! By this time it is past 7:55 and i still have no glass of wine, waitress says someone tried to bring it but I declined, I did not 👎🏻 this was my Birthday celebration, I asked for the wine again. With our meat/course selection and the broths we chose, a veg, a classic, and 2 steaks and we all went with the vegetable broth. It was delicious, and the sauces were amazing as well! Exceded our expectations and were just great! We even asked for extra sauces which still came before my glass of wine, barely! It arrive shortly after, and before 9:05, after dinner was cleared and before dessert was arrived! Finally the dessert! Everything was perfect and delicious here which was fabulous! The marshmallows and krispies were soft and sweet, almost as sweet as the wine I finally got to drink! The brownies and chocolate chip cookie pieces were more then tasty!!! At the end, waiting over 1.5 hrs for a drink seems minuscule which makes me wonder why was I still charged for the drink!? I ordered it to pay for it and enjoy it but should not wait over 2 hours for it and asking about it 3 times. This was the difference between the 18% tip we left and a 30% tip we normally leave. Some things are out of the servers hands but this, was all her! Yes, I still wanted it but, the server should have made an executive decision to comp the drink or told a manager about the issue and ask to have them handle it! If the server would have realized her mistake she would have knocked it out of the park because most everything else was right on par! The chocolate covered strawberries we took home were good however, I don't believe they were made fresh for us that day. They lasted just 2 days at home before I had to throw the last 2 out but the 4 we ate were good. *The management responded and asked me to reach out to them to discuss the drink service, so I did respond, twice! I have yet to hear back from them! This is dissapointing, it has now been 1 month since I posted this review. *Last update! The owner reached out and offered a very generous solution. He refunded not just my glass of wine but, a portion of the total bill. He also asked me to contact him before my next visit and he would take care of our bill and also sent me a coupon for $100 off a visit. All of this was above and beyond so I will change my 3 stars to 5 because this was way more then I could have asked for totally satisfactory. After our conversation and his apologies for the glass of wine not coming in a timely fashion, I could see that he is a business man very proud of his establishment and was really just trying to please a guest and ensure a return visit, which he did! Thank you!

Not the best Melting Pot. I really hate giving less than stellar reviews, especially for restaurants. This was our first Melting Pot, so we were excited to return. We love the ones in Northern Virginia. Host was pleasant and we were seated quickly. It was disappointing that the tables don't match and we were seated in an old, less attractive booth with a pole in front of it. Our server was very friendly and did make suggestions, which I love. With running restaurant's myself though, things like leaving long hair down while serving food really irk me. We also listened to the server at the next table trash talk the cooking style we love to guests who haven't tried it. Not even in a professional, let me help you make a great decision kind of way, but more of a trashy bartender talking with regulars. We did overhear a server at the very next table who was terrific. I would have hired her in a minute and do think our experience would have been better with her to be honest. We were also disappointed that they only serve 2 kinds of bread with cheese, not the 3 we are used to, and they only had one of them and it wasn't our favorite. The dressing on the salad has changed or I was served the wrong one. Either way, I didn't care for it. The way the menu is now, it's more than twice the price as before, you can't order the way I need to due to dietary restriction because they have everything paired up, and the portion looked sad. I'll attach a picture of the desert and it may have been just poor plate choose, but it looked and felt sad for the price. We will undoubtedly return to Melting Pot at home, but won't likely return to this location. Please don't judge all of them by this one.

The Melting Pot is a chain fondue restaurant, that specializes in multi-course meals (cheese fondue, salad, main course fondue, chocolate fondue). It is not cheap, but it is a fun dining experience. You will want reservations. We dined last night for Mother's Day with our two children, and it was a lovely experience. Pros: The food was delicious, and anytime we ran low on a dipping item (bread, green goddess dip, etc), staff were delighted to bring us more. For Mother's Day, they had beautiful little corsages for the moms, which was such a nice touch. Our waitress was truly fantastic. One of our children has a dairy allergy, and the waitress was on top of checking ingredients for everything to make sure our child was safe. They actually have vegan cheese for fondue, but we did not want to subject our whole table to vegan cheese, so we did not try it. They also had vegan semi-sweet chocolate that could be used in the dessert, and we did have that. No one at the table could tell it was vegan, and the kitchen was kind enough to make a separate dairy-free plate of dippers for my child. We really appreciated this, given how busy they were Mother's Day. The only things that keep this Melting Pot from 5 stars were the hostesses, who seemed indifferent (or maybe just overly busy??) to guests entering and the bathrooms that were not as clean as I would have expected or hoped--could be they were just overwhelmed by Mother's Day. We certainly enjoyed our visit and will definitely return...especially now that we know they have vegan cheese available and the possibility of reserving a two-burner table.

TL;DR: we spent almost 3.5 hours at the restaurant and did not receive all of the food we ordered, despite what appeared to be a full staff and one of the only parties in the restaurant. We arrived for our reservation at 7 PM, 2 hours before close, as a party of 7. There were one or two other parties in the restaurant. Our waitress, Nola, was very nice, helpful, and got all of our cheese fondue, salad, and drink orders correct. We were very happy with the service initially. We finished our salads around 8 PM. About 20 minutes later, the cooking oil came out, but Nola went back to get the meat. I think the meat finally came out around 8:45, and we were the only ones at the restaurant at this point. We finished the meat in about half an hour, so 9:15 at this point. Nola checked to see if we were ready to order chocolate around 9, and we were still eating, so we did not order. Around 9:50, she had still not come back, so we went to the bar to ask where she was. She promptly came out and took our orders. By 10:15 our chocolate had not come out, so I went to the bar to ask for Nola again for the check and to take the chocolate fondue in a to go box. Nola was surprised and seemed disappointed, saying she didn’t realize we were in a rush. 3.5 hours at a restaurant is not a rush. The worst part, and one of the biggest things motivating me to write this review, was the portions we received of our to-go dessert fondue. I’ve attached a photo. This is $26 of fondue. We have taken their dessert fondue home before and received substantially larger portions, so I don’t really know why this happened.

So we decided to do the "celebration" dinner and I didn't love it. The meal was decent enough (the mojo cook style is delish and I could eat it like soup!) and the portions were ok but the added details that made it "celebration" were a bit lacking and gimmicky. Our bill, after tip, was over $300. For 2. The cheese was delish (quattro formagio), the salads were mediocre and kind of flavorless (Caesar), the main courses were decent if not a little scant (filet, 4 shrimp, 4 small pieces of chicken breast, and 4 pieces of teriyaki steak), and the chocolate was...my favorite part (cookies and cream marshmallow dream). The celebration part of the chocolate was neat I guess (though, the smell of the sparkler kind of dimmed the presentation), I was disappointed with the amount of fruit given (the pound cake, rice krispy treats, and chocolate covered marshmallow were plentiful). We got one each of the celebration drinks. The 1975 was good, if not overly sweet, and the punch one my husband had was refreshing but was missing the "smoke" presentation the menu advertised. Overall, it was a good meal but I'm not sure it was $300 worth of good. Also, we were sat at a corner booth that had a column right in front of it making it hard to maneuver and our waitress had quite the time doing our fondue because of it. The "celebration bouquet" (romantic) was 6 short stemmed roses in a tiny vase that were on the table when we got there and kind of wilted from the heat of the cook top.

This is definitely a place that you go to for an experience. The booth they sat us in had a column right in front of it and felt very cramped. It seemed like an after thought of a table to try and get one more seat in there to make more $$. The food is amazing for sure and I had a good, fun time going out here with my wife. The main downside we experienced was the service. It took 15min after being seated for our waitress to get our drink order. By the time our cheese fondue came out, we had been there for over 30min. By the time our entrée came out it had been almost 1.5 hours there. They actually brought our broth out way way before the meats and by the time the meat came out our broth was quite reduced by steaming off so much. Everything tasted great but some of the other tables around us got done with their entire 3 courses before we had finished our entrees, and they weren't rushing either... All in all we were at the place for just about 3 hours. It was a nice time to relax and talk with my wife, but we were not expecting 3 hours at all... maybe a little over 2, but not 3. Food was great, service was lacking, seating we got was very uncomfortable for a 3 hour meal. EDIT: We went back after receiving gift certificates to see if our experience would be better a second time. The service was definitely better the second time around. I think most of our previous experience can be explained by the table itself and that our waitress was brand new.
