Having grown up in WNY I was accustomed to Wegmans and loved to shop there. When we made the move to Cary, NC 20 years ago I was so disappointed with the grocery stores. Well, today was amazing!! Finally we have Wegmans! Bye, bye Food Lion and Harris Teeter....Wegmans is here! This store was just everything a grocery store should be...and the customer service was incredible. I spoke with staff from meat, bulk, wine, bakery, grocery, and dairy and unlike the HT close to my home, nobody had to call someone to get an answer! Each member was able to answer my questions and requests to help me find all my favorite items. We filled two carts and we will make this our weekly shopping spot (well...until they open in Cary). The bakery clerk even explained that if I wanted the pepperoni and cheese bread (they carry around certain times) that I could call a few days ahead and they would make some for me! The bulk clerk told me the date sponge candy would arrive. The butcher showed us right to the Wegmans brand Italian sausage. The wine clerk walked us over to the infused oils halfway across the store and made us feel like we were the only ones there....even as thousands of people were there. A grocery clerk I asked to point me to where Chavettas marinade was walked right to the spot and pulled a bottle from the shelf as if heād always worked there. At checkout....even with the store being that busy, I only waited about five minutes. The ONLY disappointment was that they were out of Bison Dip. The dairy clerk said they had ordered three times the corporate suggested amount and had run out in the first hour....and then he was so well informed he told me about the next two shipments and when they would arrive. You canāt get that at HT and Food Lion š Welcome Wegmans!! I have missed you. š Some misinformed guy said Wegmans was NY prices...if a gallon of milk is $1.74 ($2.99 @ HT), 90/10 ground beef is $2.99 ($5.99 @HT), Red Oak is $17.99 ($21.99 @HT) Iāll take those NY prices all day. Essentially, for Southern folks...imagine Wegmans as regular everyday grocery prices cheaper than Food Lion in the middle...then add a Whole Foods specialty area, Cheaper than Total Wine HUGE wine and beer section, a world class bakery (we did pay $12.99 for a coffee cake...but oh my! It was the best coffee cake Iāve ever had (sorry Grandma) and fresh baked (not brought in from frozen) bread area so large itās hard to decide which...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNICK IS RACIST. We have used Wegmans for Internet and to eat ever since this location opened. We have our computers and monitors set up to stream, 2 monitors and a laptop. He walks to our table and asks us "why are you even here?" We state that we enjoy Wegmans and want to use the internet. He states "don't you guys have wifi at home or anywhere else?" I tell him that's a personal question. MIND YOU WE WEREN'T EVEN USING WEGMANS WIFI, WE HAD OUT HOTSPOTS ENABLED. He says "well our customers might want to use this table and would feel intimidated by you to ask for you to get up" I then say "if we are customers, why would another customer ask me to get up, if there are PLENTY of tables in this HUGE area." He then stated that we have been there for 4 hours and haven't spent money. HE HAS NO CLUE WHAT FOOD DRINKS OR PRODUCTS WE HAVE PURCHASED. He then asks "we aren't gonna kick you out, but how much longer will you be here?" He then threatened to call the police on us and constantly compares us to other customers. "usually customers have 1 laptop, this is excessive" we aren't like other customers. And most customers are different from others either way...He mentions numerous times that this is private property and there is no retail location that would allow us to use our computers the way that we do. He constantly mentioned how respectful we were as well. And to come over here and be rude and tell us that we aren't allowed back here when we've spent tons of money with Wegmans as customers, and have been setting up in this area for over a year. Why would he say we are "intimidating the kids just by a computer set up"??? He must be either a new manager or a random manager that has a problem with Ego, Power, and Black People. LOOK AT THESE PICS. WHY WOULD A CUSTOMER BE INTIMIDATED BY US IF WE ARE IN THE FAR BACK, AND WHY WOULD A CUSTOMER SPECIFICALLY ASK FOR THE TABLE WE ARE SITTING AT, IF THERE ARE PLENTY OF SPACES? WHY WOULD A MANAGER TELL US WE HAVEN'T SPENT ANY MONEY AS IF THERE IS A TIME LIMIT BEFORE THE COPS GET CALLED ON US? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE NICK....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to love this store. We have been before but it was a couple of years ago when we were visiting. Now we live 30 minutes from this wegmans because we moved outside of Raleigh. We went yesterday and I couldnāt be more disappointed to the point that I will probably never go back. The young lady at the deli section was fantastic. Food choices are pretty good. It all went down when we were checking out. I explained to the cashier that I had just signed up online for the wegmans rewards account (like we have for all grocery stores) and I asked her a question. Her response and attitude was poor to say the least. I was surprised because she was an older woman and should have better manors. She pointed out that a couple of pears in my bag didnāt look so great. She called a manager over because I wanted to to see if the manager would give a discount. They wouldnāt do it. I didnāt expect it free. I literally expected for 50 cents to maybe a dollar off. They wouldnāt do it like every single other store will do. Their solution was to make us wait while they checked in the back. No thank you! I just asked them to take it off. We were tired and wanted to leave. We had discounts and a free bag for just signing up. Well, it didnāt ring up correctly and clearly she didnāt care and once again her attitude showed. The clipped coupons werenāt working and I had to go to customer service to get money back. Then I get home and realize that several of the clipped coupons didnāt work. I bought things that I didnāt plan to because of their offer that didnāt work. Then I cut open the watermelon I bought from them and it has clearly been frozen. Itās garbage. Soā¦in the end I lost $4 on the watermelon and $6 on the discounts that their systems didnāt honor. I will most likely not ever go back. We eat all organic also and I am not even kidding that I spend close to $300 a week. My husband is a chef also and we only buy high end. Just informing Wegmanās that you lost a very profitable customer due to poor customer service, poor policies, poor quality of food, and your poor...
