February 21, 2025 - Great Combo at Dock 1053 . . . Amazing fresh lunch at Wilson’s Eatery & Lynnwood Brewing Concern ( LBC) with award winning BEERS 🍺 😃👍🏼
While in Raleigh for my daughter’s wedding, we love to explore the area for good food & adventures! Dock 1053 is a renovated warehouse & train stop from 1955. . . built by the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company.
Now this facility holds 8 new businesses! Owner Ted Dwyer started Lynnwood Brewing Concern in 2013, this 2nd location at Dock 1053 opened in 2015. Dwyer then established Wilson’s Eatery in 2018, which shares a beer garden between the symbiotic businesses! Great idea! 🍻👍🏼😃
My wife, her sister, and I stopped in for lunch ! As we approached the front counter to order food. . . I asked why the name Wilson’s? The gentleman pointed to the dog in the photo on the wall, a beautiful white Lab named Wilson ! Told Wilson is/was the family’s loving and kind pet! ❤️ Works for me.
My wife ordered the Italian sandwich . . . Ham, pepperoni, salami, mozzarella cheese, tomato, lettuce, pesto aioli, on sour dough bread. Her sister ordered the Frickles . . . Fried pickles, guacamole, on tortilla chips. I ordered their famous BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich . . . Braised pulled pork, w/ Dock slaw, pickled onions, Eastern NC BBQ sauce, on a brioche bun ! We shared a bite of each together, wonderfully zesty , great flavor combinations , especially my pulled pork sandwich with the splash of vinegar bbq sauce and pickled onions! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Oh, I also ordered their LBC flight of 4 beers ! 🍺 (Big selection of beers)
*Oatmeal Stout - 5.5% dark chocolate & caramel . . . robust & rich ! 😃
*Tangerine Mimosa Sour - 5.5% light 😃
*Bad Leroy Bro - 5% Caramel & toffee 👍🏼😃
*Back That Razz Up - 5% wheat raspberry 👍🏼😃
I enjoyed each of those LBC beers, very different styles of beer. . . Must return for another flight sampling , work thru the list!
Great lunch stop, as spring approaches. I bet in the warmer weather their Beer garden is packed with beer enthusiasts! 🍻😃👍🏼
Note: The whole parking lot at Dock 1053 is privately owned, a parking fee is charged!
Hey good news. . . Take your parking ticket into the business you frequent, your ticket will be “ validated” ! ( no...
Read moreHorrible sandwich with very little pork and mostly cabbage. The pork was put into a thin flavorless patty w fillers. It didn't have much flavor and was a very weird texture. The Mac and cheese tasted microwaved. There are very few soda choices-nothing i liked. The menu had very limited choices. Its been 1.6 months since covid started. Let's get moving! The service at the bar was slow and it wasn't very busy. She was talking to other customers. When I told her I didn't care for the food, she never attempted to make it right. I ended up forcing down the sandwich as my hotel has no food, i was starving. The chairs were very hard and uncomfortable. Another thing that bothered me was your cooks wearing sweaty dirty hats. I do not think thats sanitary. I would say a quick beer only type joint. I don't drink beer so I won't be back. To the owner response below: I do not appreciate your lies in response to my review. First of all i came in alone. I got a bottled tea to replace the very bland soda. The English family that came in after me did not like the soda either. I did ask the bartender when I finally got her attention to take the soda off of my bill and replace it with the tea. I never got a water. I only had 3 sips of the soda and any other restaurant would handle it the same way. I do not have husband. And I sat at the bar by myself no hiding there. Its sad you lie on Google. I'm a google reviewer and have no reason to lie. If you can show me the video of me not paying for my ice tea and my imaginary husband, please save it and ill come in to review it. I do have my receipt if you would like me to email it to you. It reflects the soda not the tea. The bartender said they were the same price, so she left the soda...
Read moreExcellent location for meeting friends or a date as well as family friendly, this eatery has a lot to offer. Seating is good with an open warehouse industrial feel. The menu is typical American fare with a mix of flatbread pizza, burgers (beef or vegetarian), salads and bar that serves a good mix of local beer. Each of these are prepared with a slightly different twist and are far from boring. During our visit our party had a pizza, chicken sandwich and a falafel veggie burger. Added to that was a side of fries (only $3) side of broccoli salad and beer mac-n-cheese. My wife who is a French fries critic said they were banging. The aoili mayo was a nice touch. The classic Pizza we had was flavorful and the flatbed crust was housemade. It was a little soft in the middle so if we ordered it again we would ask them to cook it a little longer. The chicken sandwich was cooked well and a win as was the veggie burger. I would also recommend the broccoli salad as a nice fresh addition to your meal.
One food ordering protocol that makes this restaurant unique is their use of texting when your order is ready. You walk over to the kitchen to pick it up. This makes you feel like you are outside a good food truck ! We will definitely come here again and recommend it to those who...
