Restaurant- is a whole in a wall type. This is one of the spots were my co-workers go either weekly/monthly because the price is so reasonable. Food- I ordered regular chicken burrito which consisted of rice and beans. In terms of price, it was worth the price as advertised. I don't eat much so the regular size was big. Some of my co-workers love the regular size because it's big and they can pack for Togo. As far as taste is concern, it lacked flavors in the chicken. The restaurant provides free salsa and chips. So you can refill the chips and salsa as many times as you desire. And the restaurant also provides free refill on the drinks. KUDOS for that. They had three specialty drinks (coconut, cantaloupe & pineapple). I tried cantaloupe and pineapple but I love the pineapple the best. They have a wide variety of menu selections. Service: You have to pay while ordering the food. And they give you numbers and the food is delivered at your table. The service was pretty fast because only one table was occupied when we entered. It took them around 5 minutes from the time we ordered to bring the food out. I heard when the restaurant is busy, no seats are available and it takes time. We got lucky this time. Parking- they have their own parking lot so lots of...
Read moreThis place turned out to be surprisingly good! We were on our way back to San Jose from Tahoe when we came across this place(looked up Yelp, good reviews and decided to give it a chance). Parking shouldn’t be a problem, the parking lot is pretty big. Be mindful, the place is pretty busy during the weekends and the biggest drawback is that they do not have a lot of seating space inside. The service is great, our server was very sweet and brought our food within couple of minutes after seating us. (You have order on the counter and your food comes to your table). The food is authentic mexican:We tried their Super Taco-Chicken, Chicken Super Burrito and Chicken Enchiladas which came with Beans and Spanish Rice (Trust me everything was so flavorful and tasted wonderful!) They have an open nacho and salsa section, you can fill up bowls with as much as you want! (5 stars for this :D) Best part: They also have a separate little counter for freshly made tortillas which you can take away for home!
The place is very family oriented, must visit if you are...
Read moreReally nice surprise! I've driven by many times on Folsom, but wanted to find an alternative to Adalberto's, which is closer to me. I had the Super Carne Asada Burrito and it was delicious. The ambiance was very warm and inviting. There were many families there. The place was clean and they had two TVs going, with different sports. They were making fresh tortillas.... by hand. Nice thing about this taqueria that you don't often see is Chile Verde on the menu. That's going to be my next reason for going there very soon!
UPDATE: You know when you have a bad meal and you have to go to another restaurant to order the same thing and erase the memory of the bad meal? Well... the Chile Verde Plato didn't work out so well at El Favirito and I'm writing this from Casa Ramos, where the Chile Verde is excellent... albeit... more pricy,...
