Sunrise Waffle shop — Restaurant in Rancho Cordova

Ordered grits to go and got oatmeal. Called and let them know, to which they said they'd "take care of me next time for the inconvenience ". Came back, ordered the same thing I always do. The lady said she remembered the incident and told the cook to five me "the bigger size" grits for last times inconvenience. 1) I don't need to eat more grits. She should have just reduced the price of my next meal.

Once the order came out, it was the same sized to go grits I always get. When I explained to her that nothing was taken care of as this was the same cost for the meal I always pay, and the same sized portion I always get, she tried to convince me that the size is usually smaller, and the price is typically higher. I insisted that the last 4 times I've ordered this meal and been to this place I ordered the same thing and cost/size is always the same.

Then she told me that I've actually been getting discounts all along without me asking for a discount and we should be square. I could not believe the explanation she was trying to give, and simply left. she was very attentive and was on my coffee every time it was near empty. When my friend mentioned he'd asked for a small but charged for a large orange juice, she was polite and understanding. 5/5 on service. That being said, the food was a far drop from even being mediocre. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast. It included biscuits n gravy, 3 eggs (mine were scrambled), hashbrowns and an orange slice. All of the food was cold, and even had it been warm it was just plain bland. The hashbrowns were undercooked, the orange slice was dry and powdery instead of juicy, the biscuits n gravy were fast food quality, as were the eggs. The steak was a hit and miss. Every few bites it would taste good, but was followed by another few greasy bites. For the price, it was not worth it. $8.95 could've bought me better tasting fast food. Overall, for being what it is, I will not be going back. As lovely as our waitress was, the food is bland and fast food quality. You might be better off just eating McDonald's...

We were loyal customers before they moved and were very happy with the new location, until we got this waitress, don’t remember her name, had purple in her hair, we’ll my eggs were very over cooked , I asked for over medium well, they came out fried like rubber and the county potatoes were burnt, I like them well done but they were burnt. We told our waitress when we were done eating because we normally don’t complain and never asked for free food. So we just told her and she defended the cook and said the eggs were cooked correct and kept on & on about how well the cook can cook. There was no customer is always right going on here. So we paid our bill and haven’t been back since that was about 3 weeks after they opened at new location.
