I find some of the complaints and one star reviews elsewhere for this property rather baffling. It’s not a bad hotel, at all. ||I’m travel a lot, and I am approaching 2000 nights at Marriott properties at this point and feel I likely have a better handle on what Marriott’s brand standards are than even most Marriott corporate staff. This property did a great job for our stay. ||This is a first generation Courtyard from back in the day when Courtyards actually had a courtyard, so it’s several decades old at this point. But it’s also been fully redone—all new bathrooms, carpets, furniture, hallways, lobby, the works—so it’s a clean, fresh property and our stay was pleasant and quiet, everything worked as it should and the building, rooms and public spaces are all in great condition. Literally my only complaint is my room had a foam mattress and it was a little firm for my taste. Our friend’s room was also problem free. ||The service from the staff was terrific. We had a super friendly check in experience. The bartender was really great and accommodating. Even the all night security guard in the parking lot (I love that they have a guard) was nice. ||Yeah, $15 a night for parking at a suburban property is annoying but the complainers need to realize it’s disclosed when you reserve, so maybe they need to pay attention. Ditto for the other one star review complaining about free coffee. When in the world did free all day coffee become a hotel amenity? Use the coffee maker in your room if that’s a big deal. ||I’d stay here again without hesitation. And props to the management for recognizing your Elites. Thanks for...
Read morePool, but no hot tub. Breakfast options are great and barista (Josh) was exceedingly friendly. Rooms are basic, but clean. Room will either have a view of the parking lot or the inner pool area. Very close to freeway, but noise wasn't a problem.
Evening staff when I checked in was less hospitable than I expected. We had a room booked for 4 adults, and we had received a deal for 2 free adult and 2 free kid breakfasts. When we checked in, I was informed of this fact and immediately told "so you'll need to pay for the two extra adults if you want breakfast". That would have been fine if we didn't have those two free kid meals that would be going to waste -- and at many hotels the check in staff would offer a solution or alternate option. The next morning I spoke with the morning g staff and they were much friendlier and did create a solution for us with smiles all around. Maybe just a little training for evening staff would be helpful. I'll also add that I requested extra towels (an option at check in) and a room with a view if possible. Neither request was fulfilled nor acknowledged at check in -- I don't expect every request to be fulfilled, but an apology if it can't be accommodated seems polite.
No rave reviews (except for Josh who was truly delightful and breakfast -- not a buffet, just tasty food), but a definite...
Read moreI cannot fully express how utterly disappointed I am in this Courtyard by Marriott or how highly I suggest that nobody stay here. I've stayed at various Courtyards before and many other hotel chains and this is the first time I've ever had to pay for parking ($10 a day!!!). This is also the first that doesn't send housekeeping around to the rooms to do things like empty the trash during your stay. Supposedly they do that between guests but not while you stay. So if you stay a week, don't expect any fresh towels or an empty trash can or made bed. We even called down to the desk to ask for that since our worlds smallest trashcans were already overflowing after the first day and we were told they don't normally do that but they would come and do it since we requested only to then never show up. And as others have mentioned in their reviews, the street noise is terrible. They must have put in the cheapest possible windows when they built this place because you hear every car driving down the highway. It definitely doesn't make for a good night sleep at all! Overall, this hotel basically ruined our vacation. Stay away from it so it doesn't ruin your vacation too! I was expecting the high standards of a Courtyard By Marriott hotel and instead got a nice looking hotel with the standards of a...
