With Thai food being about as common as Starbucks these days, it's become increasingly more challenging to screen through the good from the best. Though I have written two other reviews of local Thai restaurants (including the one that was here previously), each deserving Five Stars, neither would have been rated so highly had I visited Season Thai Cuisine beforehand. It's not that I was being disingenuous, but rather I didn't know any better. I had grown so used to eating "McDonald's," I didn't an equivalent to "In-N-Out" existed. Season Thai is really that remarkably better, and then some.
On our first visit, we ordered Crying Tiger, Yellow Curry Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp, Pad Thai Chicken, and Thai B.B.Q. Chicken. Obviously, we were hungry. Even then, it was nearly impossible to stop ordering as one dish after another looked too good to pass up. Our selections proved to be excellent choices.
I don't know enough about Thai to articulate precisely what makes Season Thai definitively more scrumptious than any other Thai I've eaten before, whether it's a product of better recipes, spices or the competence of the chef, but what I do know is that the flavors are magnified. And it is just not opinion but is expressed by the nine people whom we have treated to Season Thai. All, to the person, have remarked that they were THE BEST Thai they had ever eaten.
Besides the flavors, what also makes Season Thai worth your time and money are their portions. For instance, for years, my wife and I have had to always order two portions of Crying Tiger. Season Thai provides this and more in a single portion. I still cannot get over it. I mean how is that THE BEST Thai in the city also offers the largest portions? Which leads me to my third point: price.
No, Season Thai is not less expensive than everyone else. Sorry. However, they are not more pricey either. That is, they cook up THE BEST Thia, with larger portions and the premium you'd expect does not exist.
Lastly, the restaurant is clean, attractive and welcoming. The staff could not be any more pleasant, accommodating and friendly. The service could not be any finer. These folks have made an art out of a Thai...
Read moreThis is some of the best thai food I have found in my lomg search in Orange County. I love Thai food and rarely do I find a restaurant that has it all. They have some of the fancier dishes like the crispy catfish that is a signature for a higher level experience, but I found their steak for the steak salad to be perfect. Yup, damn near perfect. No grissle, juicy, tasty, not over or under cooked and I can't wait to order their crying tiger. Their fried rice, albeit a rather smaller dish, is packed tight and so don't let the container size fool you. Their Panang Curry sauce is delicious, mind you some places give you alot of meat and veggies and very little sauce, this place gives you more sauce but it is so good. Their level 1 spicy will likely be good for anyone who can't take heat well but still wants a little taste. They do have a scale of 0-5 on spice level so there is a lot of room to work. Their salad dressings are delicious and I ordered extra to spice up my own salads this week. Their Thai Glads noodle soup is also very good. Okay, so why 4 stars - their website is horrible and after filling in my order twice it gave me errors such as item not available at check out and reuired me to re-enter almost everything in again. The third go around I eneded up just calling and although it was not super easy to communicate my order the person on the phone tried their best, the items on the web that were causing the issue were available and they got my odder done correctly and on time the first time. I will order by phone and visit again. The staff is friendly and thorough and this place deserves steady business for both the food and service quality. ...
Read moreEverything was okay until the end when one of the waitress slammed our checks down on our table with a very loud huff and walked away without saying anything to us.
My boyfriend and I went this past Saturday evening for dinner. The restaurant is small and only had 2 visible waitresses working and they were getting pretty busy, so we were patient and understanding with the slow service. We also got to witness a show with some quiet family drama in the corner, so we were provided entertainment while we waited. We didn't rush anyone for our checks when we were done knowing they get to us when they could. When they gave us our check, we thought we kept it easy and gave 2 cards and asked to split down the middle. Our waitress said ok and took our cards. Then a long delay later, another waitress runs up to our table, slams our books down and loudly huffs while running away.
That was when my boyfriend and I had it. We were patient, polite, and understanding. We didn't ask for anything excessive. We didn't usher assistance when we knew they were busy. We sat and waited for service to get to us while handling the constant barrage of customers coming in. That was completely unacceptable and uncalled for behavior. I would have been willing to give a 3 or 4 star on the review for their decent food and okay service, but that ruined the entire...
