Drove 30 mins in the rain from Boston to get a vanilla cone with peanut sprinkle. Super excited. Open til 11p?! Clutch! I pull up and the 3 customers that were there dispersed quickly, so I was right at the front. 4 windows, but only one open. I peeped my head in and say hello? Nada. Wait 2 mins and ask is anyone working? There’s 4 people back there working. Young lady with the glasses walks by with the brownies. Doesn’t notice me standing there. One homie on the phone walks by me. The other worker talking about his parlay hitting later tonight. I’m standing there…do I exist lol. 2 Caucasian woman walk up to the counter and I swear the entire crew greets them! They ask them what they want. I can only stand there. Lady says to them “He was here before us,” pointing at me. The looks I received from the work crew caused me to only lol. After some awkward exchanges of what just transpired, I got that rolling eyes “what do you want?” Ordered the order (vanilla cone with peanut sprinkles) and the Owner brought me back a vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles. Humbly said to the owner, “I ordered a vanilla cone with peanut sprinkles. He comes back with a bigger cone with peanut sprinkles and says it’s on the house. I said “no let me pay.” He said “no it’s on the house!” I profusely thanked the man and proceeded to walk away. As I’m walking away, I hear the biggest laughter coming from the two Caucasian women and the crew at the window. I didn’t want the ice cream anymore and threw it away. Don’t think I’ll be going...
Read moreI was a little disappointed when I went there, they were all out of coffee ice cream. The girl behind the counter was very friendly, and tried to help me out by having me try the sugar-free coffee ice cream (terrible, imo), and offering to do a coffee shake with the syrup and soft serve. I settled on just getting a vanilla malt. She made it well and it was delicious, just not what I had come for. But like I said, she was very friendly and suggestive in trying to find something I'd like since I couldn't get a coffee ice cream shake. The other downside was that as soon as I left the counter and started back to my car, some guy was chasing me down asking for a dollar - he was going up to cars while I was ordering and waiting, asking the drivers for money, too. I'll go back and hopefully get that...
Read moreMy story is not about ice cream, which by the way was delicious and in huge portions. My story is about the owner of this place. we have been in hospitals with my dad for a year, and these past two months he has been in bed. Sunday was the first time we went out. The moment we came out of the car and put him on the wheel chair a true summer storm started and my dad has a pump that can't get wet and his life depends on it. I panicked trying to get him in the car but that was not possible. I asked the owner for a plastic trash bag and he comes out, gets my dad inside the ice cream place, gave us towels, bags and even offered ice cream while we waited for the rain to stop. The staff was so fun, and polite trying to make us comfortable. I will be forever grateful!!!! What a kind...
