East Garden — Restaurant in Randolph

After years of going here.....we're just resigned to the fact that the service, may be anywhere from horrible , to OK. Food is good...but service,...I don't think she cares really. UPDATE: 12/2018 Service has remained below acceptable....last nite was the last straw. Waitress and the Owner both just don't seem to care about the basics of customer service in a restaurant. Very irritating. Multiple times , I had to get up and go ask the young lady, for plates....serving spoons ( which we never did get.), water ( we never did get ), and containers for take away ( she gave us 1 and we had to ask for two more ) . Her attitude went totally sour by the end of the meal. Tip ?....are you kidding? We won't be going back despite the food is fine, not great mind you...just fine.. Go for the take out, if your starving. Update: 4/2023 Surprised today , after returning from some time away , how bad the food here has now become. I can still remember a time when we really liked this place. The service now, ...at the window ( it is no longer " dine in " )....is barely passable at best. They clearly are not happy being in the restaurant business , and should find something else they might make a better effort with. Customer area of ordering is dirty , and the food that I bought today was garbage. I fed it to the crows in my back yard when I got home. Yuck !

4/07/2024 Now only a take-out restaurant. but they do have a couple of tables , if you want to sit and eat out of a paper bag. No table service . All business , not very friendly. Pay your money , get your food. This restuarant is located in a historic small town which is quite beautiful. This was 1 of 3 restaurants I visited while on a work trip. A friend and I decided to have an early dinner. We wanted to dine in at first. We were told we had to pay 1st & order at the counter which was fine. The lady that took our order was short with us & very rude for no reason. Once I placed my order, she had to ring me up 3 time. The 1st time she charged me almost doubled the price of what I ordered. The 2nd time it was still more than it should of been. I had to point out what I ordered on the menu.Then she was able to get my bill right. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not to over charge me. I only had 2 items Vegetable Lo Mien & Fries. Bye the way, I was polite throughout the whole ordeal. I thought she was having a bad day until a customer came in after us. She provided him with excellent customer service. She was more than capable of being polite. Nonetheless, she had made a choice not to do so. Was it because my friend & I are women of color? I don't know, but it felt all too familiar.

We ended up taking our food to go. My friend started feeling sick immediately after eating a small portion of her food. She had all the symptoms of food poisoning. Thank God! I had only eaten my fries.

This was a really unfortunate experience at this restuarant. However, there are other great options within walking distance. The other 2 restaurants were warm and inviting with great customer service. I would shout them out, but I don't want anyone to think they had anything to do with...

one star at most on their best day,not sure where to begin on this little hole on the wall,we called our order in at 4:30 expecting it to be ready for pick up on our lunch at 5:30 after being told it would be by the little boy who apparently runs the front of the house while the rest of his family cooks in the back,not that unusual ,ive seen it a lot in places like this,they do the best they can with what they have,I cant bash them for that,so we get there and find a line of people who are all saying they are thwre to pick up and ate told right along with us that it was gonna be a couple more minutes,no big deal,ive waited before I can do it again,but a few minutes turned into 20,wich turned into 30 minutes wich turned into a total of 45 minutes after being told it would be ready when we got there,all the while people are showing up and ordering food and getting it while we waited for our food,finally after an hour of waiting and multiple trips to the counter our food arrived so we could go back to work over a half hour late from lunch,the food was good ill give them that but not wait an hour longer than we were supposed to and being late back to work good,we def wont be going back there again any time soon,the place was a mess or we would have just dat down and had lunch right there,dishes and food from oast guest just left on tables and the floors were a hot mess as well,it wasnt a very friendly first time here at...
