Wee Bird Bagel Cafe — Restaurant in Randolph

A very hearty two thumbs up and five stars to those who came together to open Wee Bird, including the hard-working folks who must have busted their butts renovating the space. I very much enjoyed the previous cafe at this location but Wee Bird has done an impressive job. As for the products? Just as good. My iced maple latte was expertly made - a perfect balance of rich espresso with a touch of maple sweetness. I had two bagels - garlic & herb with red pepper shmear and jalapeno cheddar with veggie. Both bagels were absolutely fantastic - crunchy and chewy crust with a body that is somehow both dense and airy. The garlic & herb was very heavy on the herb, and a bit light on the garlic, but it worked very well with the cream cheese. I love Wee Bird. I'm out of the industry but as I'm from a small business coffee bakery background, I am very picky. You can always tell when an establishment is an extension of its owner's presence, and you can feel that presence when you're at Wee Bird even when you don't see the owner filling in for a kitchen shift like I did today. The aesthetics are great. I'm always very happy with my food and my coffee and the culture of the shop. I visit several times a week, because of the quality of the service and products. It's rare that an establishment is approachable enough I can take my elderly mother, my kids, my partners, my colleagues, and always have a quality experience- Wee Bird nails that balance. LOVE this place! Great bagels--the best I've had outside of NYC--great coffee, wonderful staff, cozy and relaxing atmosphere full of plants and natural light.

My only complaints are that they still upcharge for non-dairy milk and won't refill hot water for tea bags. Those are a little stingy. Also, $2 more for vegan cream cheese is excessive.

Edit to add: today I got a bagel to go and they put the cream cheese on super thin, like butter. For the price +$2 upcharge (vegan cream cheese), this is definitely bad customer service.

However, in the past I've had good cream cheese portions so I would recommend the owners re-train the staff working 6/7/25. I'll delete this...
