This is literally the first review I have written ever. This place's food was that impressive. I drove past the place and decided on a whim to go in and eat. I ordered jerk chicken from the menu and was asked what I wanted as a side. I heard "jon jon rice" and selected that. I found that option strange because I assumed from the several jerk options that this was a jamaican focussed food selection. However I know jon jon rice to be Haitian. They had peligrino (my favorite drink) and I waited for my food. The music videos playing was golden era hip hop which had my head boppin to the Lox Puffy and Kim All About The Benjamins..., Eve... etc. The server was pleasant and unobstrusive. She asked me if I would like picles which I said yes to (again Haitian). I am unsure if this is a Haitian restaurant or a merger of all carribean food. I have no clue. It does not even matter. The decor was modern but simple... then the food came. Game over. I was absolutely blown away by the perfection of this food! Im not even kidding. I had already paid when I ordered and left a modest tip. I added to the tip about a total of 35%. Worth every penny I am ensuring you. I most definitely will be back here and will take my wife with me. This place is a...
Read moreDon’t go there, save yourself just don’t go. I’ve always heard people say Haitian restaurants have terrible customer service, and today I saw it firsthand. I stood outside for 20 minutes — not one person acknowledged me. When someone finally came out, I told him I wanted to place an order. He said he couldn’t take it because there were people ahead of me. Fine. So I asked how long the wait would be , this musty, unprofessional dude with dirty-looking hair just stared at me, turned around, slammed the kitchen door, and disappeared. No explanation. No ‘sorry.’ Nothing.
All he had to do was say they weren’t taking more orders or give me an estimate. The place was dead clearly not busy — so I don’t know where the attitude came from. Maybe that’s why the restaurant is struggling. But bad business isn’t an excuse to treat people like garbage. That kind of behavior is exactly why customers don’t come back. Do better. I will report the the city because it’s against the rules not having a cook, a dishwasher to handle the kitchen it was a dirty guy with no gloves on who was cooking , cleaning and serving I guess this why he disrespected me like that because he was struggling and slaving in the back kitchen because the was no kitchen...

This, is my second visit to Gourmet Kitchen. The consistency of the food is so on point. The portions, are in large abundance. ( It's a lotta food)😋and worth the money. The prices, justify the tastebuds and the belly.
I, ordered the Rasta Pasta, Djon Djon Rice, Jerk Chicken Wontons and Sweet Plantains. Of course, I had to have extra Pikliz on the side.
