Randolph Cafe — Restaurant in Randolph

So, I have been going here since I was a child, I am now 31 years old. I'm not sure who this new manager is, but she surely needs to remove herself from her high horse.

Sunday evening I ordered a salad and rice pilaf. When I got home, I took the first bite of the rice and noticed that it tasted like chemicals. I then went to my mother with the rice and asked her if she thought it smelt like soap and she said absolutely. I tried calling the restaurant, but they were already closed so I wrapped up the rice and put it back in the fridge so the next day I could bring it in and explain what happened. The next day while I was at work, my father tried to eat the rice unknowingly, immediately spit it out and called me and my mother that there was something wrong with the rice. I told him that I thought it had cleaning products in it, and that I was planning on bringing it back to Randolph Café, unfortunately he threw the Rice out so I never got a chance to bring it back.

I kindly called the restaurant to inform them of what happened, I just explained to the manager I've been going there a long time and that I'm not going to complain, but just to talk to the staff to make sure that it doesn't happen again for other peoples safety. Me being a nurse, I was genuinely concerned for the safety of the other customers that go there.

The Manager then proceeded to RUDLEY say to me that that has not happened in 20 years of her working there, and she doesn't believe me and that what I was saying was not true. She also was very defensive and opposing, basically calling me a liar.

I will no longer be a customer for this restaurant after going here for OVER 20 years. Hopefully the owner sees this review and does something about her attitude towards the veteran customers! Good luck with your Mr. Clean...

First time trying this place. Center Street Famous use to be my go to but after too many mess ups we decided to try a different place. The food was not great. I was really looking forward to tasting some delicious pizza based on all the positive reviews but was disappointed to bite into a slice that tasted very bitter and quite flavorless otherwise. I had to dump pepper, crushed red pepper, oregano, Italian seasoning and onion powder and hot sauce on the pizza to mask the bitter taste and actually get some flavor out of it. The pizza was actually so bad nobody else wanted anymore. We ended up tossing the rest in the garbage and that NEVER happens in my house. The fries were also bland. The wing dings were fine, but then you can't really mess that up since they already come premade and the store just deep fries them...also got a steak tip Caesar salad. The steak was well seasoned and well done like I asked but tough to chew. We also ordered chocolate chip cookies and a brownie. The cookies were so thick and hard, cookies from pizza shops should be soft. The brownie was pretty good. Probably the only good tasting thing we got from here. All in all this place is not great and I really don't understand all the good reviews. We will have to keep trying other spots elsewhere I guess. Trust me, I am blessed and will continue to be so. I would never write a poor review out of spite. U were still disrespectful and ignorant. You're a so called business. I am a chef and I'd never treat nor talk to my customers as u have done or denied them service or anyone in the household service over a review 3 yrs ago.. It's always something. Last encounter I'm ordering & she tells me to hold on in the middle of my order, clicks over and continues taking my order. Then puts me on hold again and never gets back on the phone. The phone hangs up after waiting 4 mins. I call back and can't get through. Soo unprofessional. Why would you take someone else's order while you were already taking mine? Never again.
