8pm to midnight Tuesday karaoke. That's about the best I can say. There's a reason Paddy's is rocking a 4.3 instead of a 4.7+.
There is an entitlement that comes with being the bar in the historic AJ. But if they don't hold the line and honor the tradition of excellence, eventually everything can fall away into dust and ashes.
Paddy's should not settle for being fine. Paddy's shouldn't win by a field goal. Set the bar high. I've always had reasonable service and solid grub, but this is the big leagues. It's beautiful to learn and grow and evolve with the lessons from the scrappy fusion places being built by quality-driven innovative people in lower-rent areas around town.
Collaboration and teamwork makes the dream work. Paddy's should step up and be inspired by newcomers across the Hills, while honoring a tradition of excellence.
I challenge the owners to step up and invest in the team and culture rather than passively leaning on hotel bar revenue. What's happening currently isn't awful, but why accept a B status when the team and the historic venue can land A's all day long?
I'm anticipating returning. The beacons are lit. Will the managers...
Read moreWe were super excited to try this places food when we got there last night as we have heard some great stuff from people. We waited for about 5-10 ish minutes to get menus. We hadn't been here before so I didn't want to look like a dumb so I kindly asked the waitress clearing the table behind us if someone brings us menus or if we had to order at the bar. She snapped at me very rudely about how someone will be right with me and they were super busy if I couldn't tell. (They really weren't. There were plenty of open tables.) She proceeded to walk back to the bar stare at me directly and scoff and roll her eyes. I explained as she walked away that I had never been there and was kindly and simply asking a question. We decided to leave and she got really pissed that we did.
I've been a server I've had a rough night before. But, there is no excuse to just be rude for the sake of being rude.
I want to add a note to this review that I attempted to reach out to the representative that commented below with...
Read moreThis restaurant is located at the bottom of the Alex Johnson Hotel Rapid City. You can enter from the street or through the hotel if you are a guest. This is pretty convenient if you are staying at the hotel. We grabbed a bite here before checking out of the hotel (we stayed here August 2020).
Although they serve breakfast, I would recommend it better for lunch and dinner / drinks. We ordered the green chili, chorizo and hash brown breakfast wrap. Was a very large and generous serving. The hash browns were undercooked and it arrived soggy from all the green chili juice. I would recommend the sauce be served on the side to avoid this. The sausage didn’t taste like chorizo, it was gray and no hint of the traditional red color. Our other order was French toast, eggs and bacon. Bacon was over cooked and French toast was soggy.
The atmosphere was fine, normal bar feel to it. The windows overlooking the street was...
