E&M Deli And Grocery — Restaurant in Raritan

This was my first time in the deli since the new owners took over so I thought I would give it a try. I admit that it looks clean and neat, but they took out a lot of the tables and it doesn’t look like they want anybody to eat there. I was the only one in the place and it was lunchtime. I ordered my usual ham and cheese on a roll. The prices have gone up a little (I get that) but the sandwich was not the same. The roll was not as good as it used to be and there wasn’t as much meat on the sandwich. I usually only eat half a sandwich but today I ate the whole thing. The vibe is more like a convenience store than a deli.. I just don’t think this is going to work out for them. Ordered the pork roll, egg and cheese on a roll. Everything was nice and hot and the roll was super fresh and squishy. I went at lunchtime but it wasn't too busy with about six people picking up food. I haven't had this sandwich in a very long time and that hit the spot. They have coffee, salads, soup, and drinks as well as specials for a very good price. You can also try your luck at buying a lottery ticket. I have been going to E&M deli for 9 years and mostly get delivery since I don’t drive. This place is awesome about everything….quality of food..customer service, even the delivery people are great!..friendliness..just everything!!! They even remembered one time that a mistake was made about delivery instructions and the next time I ordered assured me that they knew what they did last time and repeated the correct instructions to me!
