Very disappointed that breakfast quality has gone down so much. We LOVED the original Giorgi's for breakfast. When they bought out and moved to the old O'Malley's location we were sad to see reviews stating things had changed so much, but decided to give them a try to see for ourselves. Unfortunately, we also ended up experiencing the negative changes. To start with, the building was very warm. They had overhead fans on, but no air-conditioning. By the end of the meal, sweat was dripping off us. Not a comfortable experience. Maybe our server was new and only doing her best. She was very nice and friendly, but a terrible server. Had to waive her down to request coffee refills 3 times. When ordering the coffee I requested creamer, which wasn't brought and had to be requested again. One meal ordered ham for the meat portion, but ended up with bacon. Not certain whether that was due to server or kitchen mistake. The other meal was to include toast, which was specified at time of order, but wasn't brought with the meal. When asked if the toast was on the way, the server was very confused and said she'd need to check to verify toast was included with that meal, even though she had taken the order herself, asked what type was wanted and (presumably) written it down. Some time later had to inquire about the toast again before it was finally served...cold. My entire meal was barley warm, at best. Whether that was kitchen staff or server, can't say for sure, but I do prefer my meal served hot. Definite kitchen responsibility - pancake was burned on the bottom. On the positive side, the chicken fried steak and hashbrowns were cooked to perfection and very tasty, even though cool. The omelette (although with the wrong meat) was also nicely done and enjoyable. What happened to the original Giorgi's kitchen and serving staff? Did they all leave? So sad so much has changed and the quality and service disappeared. For now, they've lost us as patrons. If we hear in the future things have improved, we'll give them another try, but for now, bye-bye Giorgi's,...
Read moreI've been here several times (& to the Spirit Lake & CdA locations a couple times) the food has always been GREAT and filling, in fact I can't finish it all ! When I've been to the fast-food places, I usually end up with a stomachache, but not at Giorgi's ! It's my understanding they will be "moving" to O'Malley and officially become the new Giorgi's. I just hope before the city ? county ? tears down the old one the wood paneling can be salvaged/repurposed.
UPDATE: I POSTED this on the O’Malleys site on Jun 8, because the Giorgi’s was still listed on their old location at the “log building”; I went from a 5 star to ONE, would have given ZERO if possible !
I have gotten food at Giorgi's a number of times, the last TWO were horrible!
The first time was a "Lewis & Ckark' that I was told was OVER cooked, so they made me another, unfortunately they didn't bother to replace the ff, which were COLD & a sliver of a tomato and barely on onion !
Today, 6/8 I thought I'd try again, I gad planned on the spaghetti, I mean how can that get fouled up, but I saw TWO orders if gorgeous fish, lightly crisply cooked and went fir the fish. There were ONLY TWO waitstaff and they were run off their feet. I wanted well over 45 minutes gor my order to even be prepared; asI was waiting for my order, a couple came in and had been waiting for some time, I asked them if they wanted a menu and took them a couple as well as cleaned off the table. When the waitstaff went to get their order they gad left!
I finally got my order, imagine my surprise when I got BROWN ALMOST BURNT FISH & NO Coleslaw, but no reduction in price. I'm sorry, but surely one of the kitchen staff could have helped out at the very least to bus the tables . I still gave the waitstaff a tip, because it wasn't their fault the way my gush was cooked, but the cook staff NEEDS TO KNOW HOW YO PREPARE ACCEPTABLE FOOD. IM PRETTY SURE I...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I definitely would. Was super busy, always a good sign because then you think that means it's great food and service. So wrong. So very, very wrong. They left us standing there for a good 5 minutes before they said anything to us, then made us stand there for another 5 minutes. When we finally got sat down they took our drink order and somehow messed that up as well. Their water tastes like it's from a puddle. When the waitress came over to take our food she then told us how they have no bread whatsoever, so that takes a out half the menu away from you to choose from. They never refilled my friends coffee. When we got our food my friends meat lover omelette was under cooked, their hashbrowns are soggy. I got the crepes and couldn't be more disgusted by how soggy and nasty they were so I sent those back. We finally get our ticket and it's not even our ticket! And to top off this story with the cherry on top, upon letting the waitress know she gave us the wrong ticket, she proceeds to go to the front counter and start cussing up a storm about me and my friend. Very loudly to the customers sitting at the counter. Then, to my surprise, she starts yelling at us from across the small, cramped restaurant to "just leave because she's tired of serving us and it's on her." Definitely dont understand the desire for this place. Better off going to Dueling Irons, worth the drive...
