Rincon Tarasco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Raytown

I have ordered from this place several times once I called in and ordered, once I’ve ordered on DoorDash, this time I ordered online and I paid with my card got the email confirmation. When I paid I used the “auto fill” on my phone so the last digit of my phone number was wrong so if they tried to call me they wouldn’t of been able to contact me I’ll own that I should’ve corrected that however I wasn’t thinking they’d need to call me for anything. I was just ordering my food as I have, long story short I get there after giving them about 30 minutes my $87 order wasn’t ready when I came in no one greeted me I stood there for a few minutes before any one acknowledged me. Then they finally spoke to me I let them know I had a pick up order they then tell me that they didn’t make my order because “MENU STAR” said my payment didn’t come through my card was declined. So I gave her my card and asked how long the wait would be at this point I’m embarrassed because it’s customers within ear shot of this, and I’m irritated because this was dinner plans for myself and my family. So then I check my account and I see that the money came out I showed 2 employees, one called the owner I spoke to her on the phone she tried to call MENU STAR they didn’t answer so she told we can blame them and since I already payed online I could pay for the food again, and they’d refund me. At this point I’m livid at this point because I’ve shown them my email confirmation, and the money came out my account. She said that should’ve got a payment confirmation and all I received was a email. I loved their food but this was not good business I was embarrassed and I understand people do bad things but I work hard for money just like anyone else. Edit: In response to owner. Let me make it clear, I’m very familiar with what a quesadilla is, along with the concept of it being a pizza. You served me a pizza that had been prepared much earlier in the day- if we are going to be honest. And, I never said paying 24$ for the product was too much- it was too much for the quality of what I received yesterday. Also, no- there was NO where near 15oz of cheese. Thank you, but no thank you for a response that was an excuse to be snarky. Cancun Fiesta Fresh in Westport makes a birria quesadilla that is served hot, with well prepared meat- and adequate cheese. Los Compas up the street from you, serves double the amount at the same price. :) Respectfully, the two stars alone were for the transactions on the phone. I RARELY leave negative reviews man, your food wasn’t on point yesterday. End of story.

I’m so upset to even have to leave a negative review. My mom’s verde enchiladas were very flavorless, the rice undercooked. We even paid 24$ to try their Pizzabirria based off a Facebook post. Utter disappointment. Seemed to be made using scraps off the meat, the throw away kind of scraps, veryyyy little cheese, and was “ ready for pick up “ soggy and cold. So cold that literal cold lumps of meat grease were more dominate than actual cheese. It is rare that we venture from our go-to restaurants, but dangggg this was an utter disappointment and ruined my appetite...

The place is very nice and clean, for the most part it's quiet not loud and you get to eat your food calmly and safely. The food taste amazing it actually tastes like Mexican food from Mexico and not a mix of texmex which a lot of places in Kansas City tend to serve. Coming from Los Angeles it is hard to find authentic Mexican food without the added text in it because it feels like it's watered down Mexican food little plan tasteless and the salsas they taste like going to buy in the store this place on the other hand have more authentic taste and a tinted salsa then most of the places we've gone to. As I post this this will be my second time coming around the first time around I had a torta al pastor and that was really good this time around I had chicken mole and it's yummy My wife she had chicken beef sausage and shrimp molcajete. She loved it, my daughter under him had a burrito this time and the last. This is our second year being here in Kansas City or still discovering the city and still trying to find authentic Mexican restaurants and for myself burger joints that will please my appetite and taste buds so far this one is a good hit if you want authentic Mexican food so two thumbs up.
