Christopher's Restaurant — Restaurant in Reading

I had high hopes as I've heard great things about this place a few years ago. Well either its going down hill since then or the person who told me about it just doesn't have good taste. Their food reminded me of school food. The potatoe pancakes that u thought would be made there were nothing more than the French fries you buy at the Market that are essentially a smoothed tater tot. Sorry but that's not what a true potato pancake is. The eggs were dry and brownish from being overcooked. I got take out and although I gave a fair amount of time before I went to get it, and they weren't busy at all (which should have been the first red flag on a Saturday morning) I still had to wait a good 5 to 10 minutes. Can’t say enough about our experience at Christopher’s this morning. We love going out to breakfast but haven’t been able to find a great breakfast spot over the past couple of years. Found Christopher’s online and it is by far our new favorite. It was packed when we got there but we were seated right away at the counter. We got the mediterranean omelet, bananas foster french toast, and oreo pancakes (added Nutella). The food was phenomenal and came out very fast. There was so much flavor, great and all was cooked perfectly. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were lovely. To top it off the kind gentleman next to us covered our meal. Christopher's is our favorite spot. We are there weekly for either breakfast or lunch (sometimes, if it's been a hard week, we treat ourselves to both). The staff is wonderful, the owners are great, and the food is fantastic. This place is tucked into a somewhat innocuous plaza next to a Bank of America and a diving school, but its utilitarian facade hides an amazing gem. It's easily our favorite spot in Reading, top five favorite places to eat period.

Honestly I could gush about these guys for nine or ten more paragraphs but I'll just say if you're there in the morning, go for the potato pancakes. They're exceptional.
