I've had way better thai boat noodles. It just meat ball and thin slice meat. Im generally use to eating thai boat noodles at other restaurants where they have tendons in there so this is the first. Seems a bit sloppy and broth is seems thick/sloshy. Definitely not what Im use to as for Thai boat noodle. Order lao style papaya and the waitress grabbed my order. I didn't notice it before but I started to get a stench of papaya juice. I was already 1hr away from redding. Me not thinkin anythin, I pulled over to the gas station and found out all the papaya juice was flopped over and spilled out the little foil like bowl they had it in. It flashed back to me how the waitress held it as it was flopped over and tilted and I didnt see the spill because the restaurant inside itself is sort of dim and not brightly lit. Also stacked on top of my thai boat noodles order (2nd bag) so I couldn't tell. There was a small tiny hole off to the side the papaya take out bag and that spillage into the bag had leaked onto my seat. Papaya was ok, but the waitress need to watch how she carries the food out next time and know whats in it and not just grab it like a choked puppy before hand it off. I didnt catch it spilling over but definitely wouldve been better if they put papaya salad in a clear plastic bag of some sort to prevent...

Rose Garden has made excellent Thai food affordable.
Their food is prepared well and very colorful. They use only fresh ingredients and a lot of locally grown vegetables/herbs.
I followed these restaurant owners from Kenyan Market to their current location because they prepare their food so authentically.
I love that they have made the prices affordable. Their papya salad is as good as it gets for $6.00.
One of my favorite things about Rose Garden is rhat they offer fresh coconut water served fresh in the coconut. Its very refreshing and super healthy. I even bring the coconut home with me to make stir fry or pudding the following day.
They also offer a pretty good wine selection; including "The 7 Zins".
My one recommendation is that you tell your waitress how you like your noodles cooked when ordering the Pad Thai.
Mom ordered this a couple of nights ago. The noodles were al dente and Mom struggled eatting it. It was the first time she didn't take her leftovers home.
We've been going here for a few years now on a regular basis. Mom's last experience had never happened before. Accidents happen and the staff was very apologetic. They offered Mom a solution but she gracuously declined. It's all good.
We Love the Rose Garden, the owners, and...
Read moreFirst off, this establishment is very unassuming and in a...less than ideal part of town. That being said, they have done the most with what they have. The inside is comfortable enough, clean enough, but it is mundane.
The food is literally some if the best Thai food I've had. My girlfriend said the same. I've eaten Thai food all over, from Philadelphia to Boise Idaho. The pad Thai here is just incredible. You crave the next bite. The same can be said for their curry, especially the combination yellow curry. It is immaculate. The pork dumplings are also a MUST, and the Thai Iced tea is SOOO big and only $4!!
Prices are very reasonable, but I would expect that to change as they grow. This is a definite hidden gem for Redding. Once people here give them a chance they won't bother going anywhere else for Thai food.
I recommend coming here while the prices are good, which just makes the food that is already absolutely outstanding, even better.
The staff are very friendly, attentive, and helpful. They are doing this while actually working hard.
We LOVE this...
