The Art Collective — Attraction in Redding

I found Jessie through a mutual friend and when I first messaged Jessie I sent him multiple pictures of my dog. I sent him a picture before hand of a tattoo style I was trying to achieve as well and asked if he was able to do the tattoo because I noticed his page didn’t have color tattoos or many portraits and I wanted a very vibrant colored tattoo of my dog. I even messaged him again and told him, I forsure wanted color and asked again if he could do it because I was really stressing on it, He assured me he could do it but still kept trying to convince me to do it black and white instead. I figured because that’s his preferred style of tattooing. I insisted on the color and that’s what he tried to do but did not achieve that. I feel if he wasn’t 100% confident that my tattoo was going to come out like the picture I showed him then he should have just said he couldn’t do it instead of taking it on. I told him after it was done I LIKED the tattoo because I felt bad but I wasn’t enthusiastic about it either and what else could I do after he already tattooed me. He also told me I was going to need to come back in a few months for a touch up… that shouldn’t be a thing with a fresh tattoo. It was nothing like i envisioned and it really breaks my heart. I am not happy with my tattoo. I will post the style of the tattoo I wanted and then the tattoo I got. The first is the one I wanted it like. The second is mine. If you’re looking for color tattoo or portrait I do not suggest going here. I’m very mad at myself for not going somewhere else that specialized in the work I wanted instead of trusting someone who had little to no color work show cased and probably very little experience with it even tho he claimed to have been tattooing for 7 years. I wasn’t going to do a review but after a few weeks I have decided that I don’t want this same thing to happen to someone else who wants such a special piece done. I ended up going to deadlift tattoo and having the owner wade try to fix my piece for me. Wade was able to take it and bring it to life with the color I wanted but it didn’t fix the dark black shading Jessie did on my dogs coat or the way his face looks. This tattoo shop has the most comfortable and relaxing vibe to it!! I have been going to Jesse for about 3 years now and he has nailed it every time. I can tell him just an idea I have an we come up with a design together or he will create one he feels fits me with my acceptance of course. He always triple checks his work or checks more than 3 times especially when he’s doing a date or a word/name, which always cracks me up but I know he’s doing it for a good reason. He is always so friendly and easy to talk to, he is a great listener and has no problem taking a break if you need one. He has done memorial pieces on me, matching tattoos and he has even done tattoos for my bachelorette party which was the best time!! Including a tik tok we made after all the tattoos were done it’s a blast going to the art collective.
