Mama Mia's Restaurant — Restaurant in Redford Township

Had a group of four. We were seated immediately. It took almost fifteen minutes to get our drinks, yes, one person in my party timed it. Had to ask the server for flatware after we received our salads. We kept waiting for her to come back. I finally got up and just asked for the utencils so we could begin eating.

Ordered our dinner, then ordered a few dinners to go. Unfortunately, the dinners to go were brought out at the same time as our dine in food. It left minimal space to eat, and then the food would be soggy and cold by the time we finished our dine in meals. It should've been brought with the check, which has been done numerous times when we had eaten here previously.

Asked for condiments to go with our food after it was served, I had to ask another server to get it because ours brought drinks and other things, but not the condiments.

Our other party was halfway thru their dinner by the time we received said items from our server. Server commented, after we spoke to another of the wait staff, that she was just very busy and was not trying to neglect us.

I was under the assumption she was brand new, so hopefully, she has good mentors to help her improve and learn. Other than all this, our food was very good and will still come...

This is one of the best American Italian Restaurants anywhere around! The prices are affordable even for people on a budget. Whether it’s the delicious Pizza, or one of their many dishes! Everything I’ve tried from there has been delicious! Including Chicken Broccoli Alfredo, Chicken Parm, my favorites by far are the Chicken Cordon Blu (which is obviously made from scratch) and their Smothered Chicken... You get the option with every meal of soup & Salad, as well as if you want potatoes or rice! The bread that comes with the meals is also freshly made, is some of the best bread I’ve ever had from anywhere! It’s so good the owner should consider selling it in stores. On the note of staff.. Every time I’ve walked in. I’ve been greeted with a smile. If I order carry out. They make sure I have everything I need. If my family dines in... From the greeter, waitress, to the bus girl! Everybody is so kind. Let me add that the bus girl makes sure the tables are clean! When I was in last week I swear she had to have clean the table 4-6 times using different cleaners! Even crawling under the tables to clean up after a large family with several children left. To clean up all they had dropped! She did it with a smile? Can’t say...

My partner and I tried the Redford location and we are paying the price. We were both leery given the lack of windows and outdated appearance but it has good reviews and seemed busy. After ordering our food with a very nice waitress I got up to wash my hands and discovered the bathroom was poorly taken care of... the faucet was a silver matte finish due to residue and no one bothering to wipe it down. This should have been my sign to ditch but alas the dream wouldn’t die. He got the chicken Alfredo prima Vera and I got the chicken parmigiana.... both tasted sub par and were so hot I couldn’t actually taste due to burning my mouth. A few hours after ingesting these meals we both began to complain of stomach cramps and sweats. We both were up into the late evening due to illness. Over 24 hours and still no sign of improvement. I’m suspect it’s due to the cleaning methods and perhaps a member of the staff’s hygiene. I’ve worked in the food service industry for a very long time and understand accidents happen and things slip up but this is clear neglect and we will never return. Word of caution to anyone seeking pasta at this location......
