Must be a lot of lucky people out there because we've been going here for almost 40 years and for the last 2 to 3 years they ask you how you want your burger done you tell them medium it comes out well done and so hot that it burns your mouth. Last night was the worst experience we've ever had at Sandy's and probably the worst Burger I've ever had anywhere. Literally 10 minutes after the burger being at the table it would still burn your mouth it was so hot, it was so dry and well done that when you picked it up it fell apart. Reluctantly we agreed to let them try to make it right. They bring us back 2 more Burgers so hot they burn your mouth but on the inside 1 almost Raw n the other almost well done. They should never ask how you want your burger done if they do not have the ability or desire to cook it the way you ask. The waitress told us that next time we come we should try something different. The reason we went there was to get a burger I guess we'll just go somewhere else. Sandy was there but never came to our table, I'm assuming that the waitress kept it quiet so Sandy wouldn't know about it. That's good business. We will NEVER COME BACK HERE. AND TO TOP IT OFF THE WAITRESS CHARGED US $19.50 FOR THIS WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. KIND OF STEEP FOR TWO BURGERS AND A SINGLE POP. From now on we'll be going to Mason's they only make 1/3 pound burger but they know how to make it medium consistently and it won't burn your mouth...
Read moreUsually a good experience, but not so much tonight. First, the hostess (she might've even been the owner?) was rude to my teenage kids. After waiting a 1/2 hour to be seated, we were at the front of the line. Table was cleaned off, hostess asked how many, and then grabbed some silverware. We assumed that meant we were being seated. As we followed her to the table, she says, "I didn't say to follow me." Took all of us aback, especially my kids. Incredibly rude, but I didn't want it to ruin our meal, so I played in down to the kids and tried to blow it off. Then, my son orders a steak sub WITHOUT onions. The sub comes and low and behold, it is covered in onions. The boy is already in a mood after the rude comment made by the hostess. So, the sub gets sent back, only to come back to us about two minutes later. Son opens the sub and about a third of the onions are still there. The cook simply wiped off some of the onions and sent it back out. Anyone who truly despises onions knows this won't work. I had to request a whole new sandwich get made. Fed up with his whole experience, son goes and waits out in the car, and our dinner out was ruined. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the waitress was great and very understanding (and I think just as aggravated at the cook as us). It's unfortunate, because I used to love going to Sandy's for a tasty, quick lunch. But I will not go back any time soon after...
Read more7 of us stopped in tonight ( Saturday ) for our group dinner gathering. Upon entering the bar area the tables are neatly arranged. The holiday decor is very inviting. Warm and cozy actually. We were seated in the " over flow " room. Still nice clean and what not.
Appetizers were pretty good. Battered mushrooms. And crab ragoons. Good portion of mushrooms nice Asian sauce ragoons and ranch is very tasty.
Servers are polite. They greet and warmly welcome you. We ordered fish and chips. Burgers and steak bites. Everyone was very pleased with there food choices. And the burgers were prepared just as ordered. Soft bun. Good toppings. Fish looked very appealing.
Four stars ONLY because they are cash only. I think we would have spent more had we had the ability to use card. However. We stayed within what we had to spend on hand. Not sure if that helps or hurts this establishment.
Never had eaten here before tonight. And I will return to try that fish and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Shoot over and enjoy good food. Good prices and a neighborhood atmosphere. :)
Thanks...
