Stell is so loved by this town that is a city but keeps telling me it's a small town which it is not but for some reason is figuring out what it is, while calling itself whatever it wants as it (the place, town, city, zone) judges others who are going through the same process which, is more like an island, but in a strange island way vs a healing island way, that nobody cares about an internet review. Seriously. Stell is, currently, the center of that described island. It doesn't matter what a small pea like me for sure says about Stell.
Stell is a territory onto itself. Kombucha on Tap is vital to its bueno vibes. Machete next door (with a flower shop in between) is also key to its bueno vibes. The sweetest staff ever, genuinely, is such a relief... the small kitchen that remains delicious and packed, dishing out happiness constantly is also key to its bueno vibes. The Don's bicycle people (who don't get midnight ridazz but, that's okay) who gather & start rides there are so precious and critical.
The only reason a small pea like me gives it four point five stars is because, what if they all could open a canopy up? Meaning: say, have coffee with the flower shop, or machete tortillas in the Stell kitchen? Or if the overarching themes of an island's center were just condensed to one theme, being independent, a window, safe to look in and out of. I imagine Stell in one of the craftsman bungalows or ranch houses nearby sometimes when I look up from my cup of coffee.
So, location and partnership are the only things that give it 4.5 stars. Again, I am a small pea. My heart is with the staff & bueno vibes. Wishing Stell independence from island fever especially. Enjoy your visit! Coffee : 2 free refills and perfectly priced, brewed and heated. Espresso machine : Used heavily Food : Fresh & Beloved Staff : Top Notch Outdoor patio and Indoor spots to...
Read moreBoy oh boy, it's about time for me to say what I need to say about this Coffee Shop. I've been coming here for a very long time, mainly for meet-ups with cycling groups and for my own stops along the way home while out riding.
First I'd like to say that I typically don't get coffee here. I typically get their sandwiches or pastries which are extremely delicious. Their food quality always remains the same. Due to their food quality being spectacular I would consider that to be an impressive feat. The atmosphere is very nice and I've noticed that it's a popular place to study. There's quite a bit of room for people to study, gather for group meetings, or just sit and relax without being crammed in. For cyclist who are passing by, I would strongly recommend doing so. This location is very accessible and there isn't too much traffic going in or out of the parking lot. Unlike Augies there isn't too much traffic around the area. There's bike racks and even tools for cyclist to use.
The one thing that has always irked me about Stells is their coffee. I'm not sure if I've gotten used to Augies coffee but somehow it's just not as stellar. If you're passing by and don't have the time to Augies it will do the job but for how much it is I definitely was disappointed. I do however believe that the exceptional food and pastries more than make up for the "normal" coffee that they serve.
If I had to rate the store 10/10 I would give a solid 9 just because the atmosphere and food quality is...
Read moreIt's a very active coffee/sandwich shop at 11:30 a.m. Most inside seats filled and a lot of orders to go.
Very fresh and delicious sandwiche. I had a veggie sandwich. So good. I would never have thought to sprinkle sunflower seeds in the Mayo but was happy they do it so I could copy the idea.
My daughter is a repeat customer and said they make their own VEGAN Mayo and have VEGAN cheese upon request.
Customer service was very good. Patient, friendly & helpful at the register when ordering. Helping at our table with request and extra plates, etc. My sister and I were splitting a sandwich.
We are over 60. The sandwich was packed full and plenty. They make their own hummus, which was an offered side with carrots. So good. My sister had the veggie soup as a side. Also delicious. My husband had a salad called The Big Salad. It was served in a silver mixing bowl you find in restaurant kitchens, so yes, it was BIG! My beverage was a mocha latte. They have several "milk" beverages, soy, coconut, oat and almond for those needing alternatives to cow milk.
Some people in other sections were relaxing or working on devices. There's an outside patio and plenty of parking since it's in a Staters plaza.
Highly recommend it. My second visit. My sister's and...
