I came across this restaurant on Super Bowl Sunday while scrolling yelp looking for some good vegan eats. I was glad to see that they offered vegan options. I ordered a number 1 which is your choice of one protein, rice, two sides and a drink. They offer tofu and cauliflower as vegan protein substitutes. I asked for jerk sauce on my tofu. I also ordered a side of cauliflower with lemon pepper sauce (low key lemon pepper wings since the cauliflower is deep fried). On the sides menu there’s an item listed “festival” that’s Jamaican corn bread. Think hot water corn bread though, it is absolutely amazing! Be forewarned though it’s very sweet, that was a-okay by me. I was slightly disappointed with the vegan ceviche, I was certainly expecting vegan seafood to be mixed in and there wasn’t any. It’s pico de gallo, although it was flavorful it should be listed as something else.
The cashier was extremely patient with me while I asked tons of questions. The restaurant is pretty small definitely not a place for large groups. There’s maybe four or five tables that seat two - four people inside. There’s also outside seating available. This place is located in the Stater Bros parking lot right next to the beauty supply and across...
Read moreI love Jamaican food, this was terrible and overpriced at that. Ordered the jerk chicken combo with citrus cole slaw, plantains, peas and rice, and a lemonade ($25). The jerk sauce for the chicken tasted like spicy vinegar, the chicken was dry, the plantains had good flavor but were overcooked to the point of mushiness, the peas and rice has no flavor and was mushy, the citrus cole slaw was ok, and the lemonade was orange -colored and tasted like slightly strawberry-flavored sugar-water; I could not taste lemon at all. The person who took my order never gave it to the cooks/servers so after waiting 30 min for my to-go order, I had to get up and remind them about my order and then they assembled it 5 min. I also observed the person who took my ordered used the same gloves to handle food and the register and she coughed three different times right over all the food (not just my order) before someone asked her to go in the back. At that point I honestly didn't even want to eat it but I was in a rush and starving - I hope I don't get sick. There is a much better Jamaican food restaurant in Colton (Island Breeze) go there instead for real and delicious Jamaican food. I won't...
Read moreThe Presentation Was ok but very falsely Advertised, the Jerk Oxtail Smash Burger had no oxtail, basic ground beef, reduced onions, cheese and jerk sauce. The rice and Peas had no flavor with oversized onions and bell peppers, the Oxtail was tender but salty, the salt over power any possible herb or spice and the brown stew chicken was very bitter and tasteless. Browning over used and greatly disappointed being I drove over an hour away to support just to be let down. The Mac in cheese has way too much granulated garlic, and fries was overly salted! The best thing was the Festival bread!!! The cashier told me it was fried cornbread lol completely unknowledgeable of Jamaican Food. None of them working was Caribbean, and had a Spanish woman dumping browning in a pot. I Drove from LA just to get the Nastiest Jamaican food I believe I have ever tasted in my life! I’m so sorry to have to leave such review but Something must change, my kids didn’t even eat it and we eat Caribbean food weekly we all took a bite and the kid top went back on the plate. No scallion, all spice, ginger, garlic, green sauce, brown sugar, vinegar or...
