Schooner Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Redondo Beach

Really disappointed in the management of Schooner Bar and Grill in Redondo Beach. My friends and family have been coming here frequently for karaoke but our names don’t get called up as often. So I decided to book the karaoke and back room of the bar for my birthday private event. I reserved ahead of time and they said I could only pay in cash, which I did. My family arrived a few minutes early to start decorating and they forgot we were coming. They had to kick people out of their tables to give us the space, resulting in many unwanted stares. The employees then allowed other people outside of our party into the booked area, as well as allowed them to participate in Karaoke which was intended to be reserved for my group alone. My family approached the owner Henry, who was sitting at the bar watching the fight, to ask for a refund and he yelled at them and said, "get out of my face." I returned a few days later to request a refund, and the owner, Henry, refused my refund and said it was my fault for booking on a Friday night. My family, friends, and I will not return...

I thought the food was absolutely delicious. It's a great place to watch sports. Unfortunately the service was not good.

we would have ordered more at our table if the server would have made eye contact when she was in our area, and she had a habit of only asking one person at our table if they wanted anything, completely ignoring the rest of us.

I ordered from her three times, once I got her attention and she never brought me what I asked for.

she also had a habit of saying "everything's okay?" as she walked by and if we did want to order from her we would have to call after her to slow her down.

I eventually figured out she wasn't going to serve me, so I went to the bar twice to order and once to pay the bill.

This location has changed ownership so many times and I hope this restaurant survives because the food is good, but they're going to have a difficult time with...

May 18th was my first time at this establishment. I could not find a babysitter and wanted to watch the Dodger game, I called and asked if was okay to bring my toddler. The gentleman that answered said it was ok. I arrived and I was immediately recongized by the bartender and asked me if I was the person who called earlier regarding my child. I stated yes and was offered to sit where ever I wanted, but he recommended to sit in the back area where it had chairs for my child to sit in comfortable. Plus it was all our area which was perfectly most comfortable I have ever been. Great customer service. We ordered the Sampler and Taco Tuesday Tacos. I forgot to take images sorry.
