I usually have great experience here and have been coming to this store since before it was a Jons market. Since the change I enjoyed the deli counter and meats. This visit however put me off. I was feeling a bit under the weather and did not have much of a voice, the guy at the BBQ counter had me repeat everything multiple times and was not understanding a quarter pounder thinly sliced tri tip. Made my purchase then grabbed a side from the deli. I wentthrough express checkout as usual. The total was $1.72 and I paid with a $20 bill. The cashier gives me 28 cents back. I told her I gave her a $20 bill, instead of saying my mistake let me check that she goes "no I don't think so" the lady behind me comments I saw her give you a $20 also. The cashier was looking at me as though I was unable to count or lying. I said you must have hit 2.00 instead if 20.00. She calls the manager over and describes the situation in Spanish not knowing I speak /understand 6 languages. She explains that she does not believe me and to count the drawer please. The lady behind me asked if everything was okay and if they needed her offering assistance and the cashier very rudly said "no I have the manage counting the drawer you can go". As they counted and discussed I counted with them and chimed in to let them know I understood their conversation. If your going to insult me please do so to my face in English. Ultimately, after the count I was given my correct change with a look and never an apology or concern for my lost time. Worst customer service service experience in 10 years. Please tain new...
Read moreThis full-service grocery store chain is special. They carry all the regular household items you would find at a regular grocery store, plus a huge variety of imported fine foods from around the world. If there is a hard to find ingredient for a recipe you are making, you are likely to find it at JONS.
Each department has all the imported food products integrated within each aisle. For example, imported jellies, jams, and preserves will be found by their domestic counterparts like Welch’s. You won’t have to search around in the “international” aisle like most other grocery stores.
They have a full-service deli where you can buy sliced meats, cheese, salads, sides, and more. You can even order a sandwich made just how you like it with meats that you might not be able find anywhere else.
The Torrance location also has a full-service bakery with freshly made layered cakes, strawberry shortcake, brownies, tiramisu, and even Eastern European desserts.
A mainstay for the area is the BBQ counter. It has been part of this building since the last two stores that occupied the space. It has a huge following in the area so JONS decided, not only to keep it up and running, but even added more options for locals to try. They also have Santa Maria-style BBQ available on the weekends (weather permitting), grilled up fresh in the morning. The aroma of BBQ alone will...
Read moreThe manager at this JONS MARKET is great. I ask him if he could see if he could get a certain item and he said yes he would look into it. But to my surprise he got on the phone and did it right then and there. And now they carry the item i wanted. All of the people who work there are all seem to give a dam. You dont see that now a days. Its like i went back in time to the late 60's or early 70's where you knew your grocer and checkout people by name. There produce is top notch. fresh and no knats flying around it. very good prices on produce. They have organic for the people who want it. OHHHHH dont let me forget the Smokin BBQ Meats. ITS SO FEKIN GOOD. you need to try it. you wont be disapointed. The only thing wrong with jons is there is not one closer to my house. If you like beer they have a great selection of beer from around the world. I am not one to post things that are good. But i am one who will post about things that are excellent. I have not tried the meat dept deli yet to see how they are. I need to make some beef jerky. need to see if he will cut the meat...
