My husband and I got married on November 25, 2017 in the South Bay. I am a Hermosa Beach native, Arizona transplant. My husband is an Arizona native, Florida transplant. When deciding where to get married, when knew it had to be by the water. We ultimately chose Hermosa Beach as our wedding destination because of the beauty and charm my hometown offers. As we were having a destination wedding, we had the traditional “post wedding” brunch scheduled for the day after our wedding. Unfortunately, we learned 3 weeks before our wedding that the venue we had been planning to dine at had botched our reservation, and we were scrambling to figure it out. This is where Meggie Clausen and her amazing team at Sea Level come in. I am SO THANKFUL for this wonderful establishment and their incredible employees. I was panicked, I was borderline bridezilla, and Meggie took all the anxiety away, and got us excited for our brunch. We are so grateful for the wonderful, fun, and professional way she handled our post wedding brunch. She worked within the budget that we had set for the other location, allowed us to build custom menus (which she was also kind enough to print on ADORABLE stationary for us!), and was so easy and fun to work with. Additionally, Meggie and her team accommodated dietary needs, kid’s menus, and separate tabs for alcohol. It was delightful and delicious, and perfect way to celebrate our first day of marriage! All of our guests in attendance said the food, drinks, and service were exceptional! Our post-wedding celebration was all that we dreamed of and more, and we are so thankful to Meggie and the team at Sea Level for making our event so beautiful and stress free. It was an unforgettable event during our unforgettable weekend, and we look forward to coming back to celebrate at Sea Level soon! I would highly recommend them for any event- the staff is top notch, the food and drinks are lovely, and the views...
Read moreChose this place after scouring restaurants all up and down the area from Santa Monica down through Hermosa...Flew from Ohio with two other friends and made a reservation for 6. Ended up with seven people at our table. Wad making a special occasion out of it as I hadn't seen two of our people in 25 years.. The bartender was our server and neglected us and it took forever and eye contact to get her to even take our drink order. Then due to her lack of tentativeness, she did not even turn in my dinner order. When I brought it to her attention finally, she told me too bad because the kitchen is closed. Then the worst of all happened. The female manager was completely rude and had her friends sitting at the bar laughing at us. The busboy confirmed that they both provide poor service. The table next to us came in after we did. They were finished eating their meals before we got our first round of drinks. Completely pathetic. At one point I stepped outside to view their patio seating and the door locked so I couldn't get back in. The manager stood there on the other side of the glass with her back to me and heard me knocking and would not let me back in. Then she acted like she didn't see me and "finally realized" I was out there and opened the door. Everyone at my table saw it. It...
Read moreI had one of the worst dining experiences here. We had reservations for a table inside & the host informed us that the reservation did not specify indoors. So he offered the patio. It was very cold. I wanted to leave at that point, but my family was hungry. The host said that he would set up 2 heat lamps and bring blankets. OK. He sat us at a table with no setups, but he left menus. We sat there for about 15 minutes, unattended. The host returned and took our drink order. 10 minutes later, he brought the drinks and offered to take our appetizer order. We ordered apps & said we know what we want for dinner. He took our dinner order. A reasonable time later, the apps came. I left the table to wash my hands. When I returned, our dinners were on the table too. All the plates crammed onto the table. I could literally not believe it. We ate unattended for the next 30 minutes. My wife's filet was cooked wrong. Med-rare was mushy in the middle. My fish was overcooked and dry. Our kids' lobster mac & cheese was good. A waiter appeared, oblivious to the disaster that was our table, and tried to impress us with his knowledge of the area. We paid the $250 bill and left, vowing to...
