I don’t usually write reviews, but our experience at King Plus Shabu was so satisfying that I had to share. This place is truly a gem for anyone who loves hot pot or is looking to try it for the first time.
First of all, the broth options are amazing. I went with the spicy miso and my friend got the tonkotsu—both were rich, flavorful, and simmered to perfection. You can tell they don’t cut corners here. The flavors are deep, not just salty or oily like some other places. It’s the kind of broth that you could drink on its own.
Then there’s the meat—oh my goodness. We ordered the Miyazaki A5, and both were beautifully marbled, fresh, and sliced just right for shabu. The meat quality here is way above average for the price. We also loved the generous veggie platters and the fact that they include tofu, enoki mushrooms, and even pumpkin slices.
One thing I really appreciated was the sauce. They have everything: ponzu, sesame, garlic, green onions, chili oil, and more. It’s well-stocked and clean, which is honestly rare. You can customize your dipping sauce exactly how you like it.
Service-wise, the staff here are friendly, attentive, and patient—especially helpful if you’re new to hot pot. They checked in just the right amount and didn’t rush us at all, even though we stayed a while catching up over dinner.
The restaurant itself is clean and modern with plenty of space between tables, so it never felt crowded or chaotic. Parking is easy too, which is a huge bonus in this area.
Lastly, the value for the price is outstanding. You’re getting high-quality ingredients, a relaxing atmosphere, and great service—all for a very reasonable cost.
We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend King Plus Shabu for families, date night, or just a cozy meal...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to King Plus Shabu for over a year now, and even though they’ve made some recent changes, the quality has remained consistently high.
They used to offer an à la carte menu where the average bill per person was around $100 — but the meat quality was absolutely top-tier, featuring authentic Miyazaki wagyu from Japan. Now, they’ve shifted to an all-you-can-eat format using American wagyu. While the taste isn’t exactly the same, it’s still noticeably better than what you’d get at other hot pot restaurants in the area for a similar price. You really get great value here — better cuts and cleaner flavors than most AYCE spots nearby.
What’s great is that they’ve kept their old premium menu options available, so if you feel like splurging a bit, you can still order some of the higher-grade items — a big plus.
One of the staff members shared that their soup base is actually imported from Japan and made with real pork bones, the kind used in high-end ramen shops. The cost to make just one pot is around $5, and you can really taste that quality — rich, deep, and full of authentic umami.
Overall, King Plus Shabu still delivers excellent quality and value, especially if you’re looking for a more refined hot pot experience than the typical...
Read moreKing's shabu shabu is a Japanese hotpot place that serves high quality meats cooked in a delicious broth. I have tried the tonkotsu and spicy miso broth, the tonkotsu is light on umami and has a milk like creaminess, a tonkotsu broth that you could completely gulp down. The spicy miso was savory, packed with flavor and intermediately spicy. It did not allow you to stop cooking your meat and ingredients in it. My friend says the beef was "really good!", and the glass noodles were a nice addition as well. With every hotpot you're given a bowl of with a variety of veggies, a choice of glass or udon noodle, and white rice or brown rice. I also enjoyed the service as it was attentive and respectful. Overall I enjoyed my experience at King's Shabu Shabu, and if I am looking for a more premium hotpot place, I would...
