Recently when I visited Menlo Park I stumbled upon this bakery, I am a fan of French bakery ever since I’ve tried their pastry and ice cream/Gelato. They have options when it comes to ice cream such as Oreo, pistachio, strawberry, cotton candy, vanilla and chocolate. They let u try it if you ask them so you can taste and get. It was ok not even nice. I’ve tried honestly local bakeries better. I’d rate it like 2/5. They have 3 sizes available for them Small medium and large ranging from $7.75 and so on. Which is expensive I tell u why because the gelato it wasn’t gelato. I have had gelato and it has its own unique taste, I’d say they tried to make one but couldn’t actually. They have cupcake options ranging from $4. Something. Reasonable. Haven’t tasted can’t say much. They have pastry options like strawberry shortcake, lavender vanilla cake & tarts available. I personally got myself a Lavender vanilla cake 1.5/5 it wasn’t good at all like the bread was soft but the cream was soooo sugary like it gave me a cheap taste and a chocolate gelato. Disappointed. They have cake and catering services available also. They even have coffee and sandwich options here you know like a quick breakfast stop could this be?! Haven’t tasted it and honestly wouldn’t go again either but if you’re a fan of sugary like really suit cakes you can give it a try. Don’t be surprised if you’re a disappointment like me.
Regarding their hospitality, uhm no remarks on that because they weren’t that welcoming but yes they were helpful with helping me choose an ice cream flavor although I think they can do better with their customer service so yeah. Though the guy that helped me with my order was nice but I think a little talk and greeting could go a long way after all French are masters in bakery so if he could engage in a small conversation about their pastry for someone like me who was interested in knowing would have been a lot appreciated. Overall this whole bakery needs to actually level up their...
Read moreWhat beautiful desserts!
In my post-dessert haze - as best as I can recall - here are few of the dozens of thought bubbles that ran through my mind as I drooled over the display....
I was drawn to the passion fruit mousse, then the lemon tart - a beautiful miniature lemon meringue... Oh but there are swiss roll slices that are equally beautiful... And what about those pastries and cake pops in the other display?!?!
But, it was a chocolate night... (Oreo cheesecake almost won. Almost.)
So with the assistance of the baker's son, the winner tonight: the Individual Cortina - a chocolate mousse cake topped by two chocolate dipped mini cream puffs (filled with delicious vanilla custard). It was DE-LI-CIOUS!!!
Is anyone else a fan of Gabriel Iglesias? I GOT TO EAT A WHOLE CAKE TONIGHT!!! (Normally, I would be sharing with hubby, but he was out of town... His loss...) It was too good to stop and fortunately, the size is similar to a generous slice of a normal cake (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). You try it and tell me I'm wrong. When you do, I'll go back and try it again to prove you wrong. Again.
The sugar rush is wearing off. Good thing they're closed for tonight. ...
Read moreThe customer service was great- I was attended promptly despite it being a busy lunch time. I had a hard time choosing because they offer a variety of delectable looking sweets ranging from cookies to cupcakes to cake slices tarts and eclairs. They also offer sandwiches salads and coffee - a beautiful lavender color themed café. I chose the standard vanilla cupcake and a red velvet.
I was glad to feel the cupcake was cool - ( they are kept behind a glass refirgerator display) upon tasting the frosting I noticed it was a l firm yet tasty buttercream. However , I was disappointed with the actual cake itself. It tasted stale- not sure if it was due to the refrigeration, or maybe it wasn’t baked the day of. I would highly suggest making it more moist and adding more vanilla flavor to justify the $4.50 price and to give an overall...
