I would like to say that this place is an ABSOLUTE GEM. I've had every place that serves Mexican food and this is the best place. It's the only place in Reno/Sparks/Lemon Valley or surrounding area that serves food with seasoning.
I was born in California, and I grew up around so much flavor and competition was fierce with Mexican food as all the flavors were all over the place and it was almost like you couldn't have bad Mexican food in California and that is true for 80+ percent of all restaurants. In fact, the more run down the better the food I find.
De Leon Mexican Food has NO competition. None. Nothing comes a little bit close. The carnitas pull apart like and are so zesty. The asada is so flavorfull. The fat literally fills your mouth with umami. It feels like a gushers but with meat juice. Yeah yeah you got your laugh but man. This is it. This is the place. I'm not going anywhere else and this restaurant is really out of the way of my house.
Stop going to Miguel's, don't go to Robertos, don't go to chipotle, don't go to Chihuahuas. There's just so many places in this town that have no flavor. This place...
Read moreFood was better than some of the Mexican places in town. Probably the best tasting carne asada in all Reno . Flavored just right and tender not tough and not filled with a ton of fat or chewy pieces. The carnitas I would not recommend. The tortilla was cooked on the flat top. Crispy but also super greasy. The carnitas seemed greasy also. Literally added 1 shake of salt and that was all it needed. It was like it wasn't cooked with seasoning. All the salsas were great. Pico de Gallo mostly tomato very little onion or cilantro. Sopes were tasty . Rice and beans done right. Great prices tacos are cheaper than chains like Roberto's and way better tasting. Idk how I feel about the guacamole. It didn't really taste like guacamole and it was very creamy almost blended. Not a fan of that. 4 out of 5. The place was decorated nicely and...
Read moreAmazing place! First of all the food was fresh and delicious! The Carne Asada was very tender, no fat and tasted like marinated steak off a grill! While dining in they brought chips and salsa to the table by a very pretty young lady who was super friendly, as was everyone there! And the salsa was delicious and handmade! The place had the best decor and a lot of effort was put into making it special and they definitely achieved it! Very attractive, comfortable place, extremely clean and kept in white glove condition! Let’s also mention an adorable fenced in outdoor patio space with lots of seating!! Carne Asada taco, $2.50, one of thee best if not best little taco and Mexican restaurant in Reno!! I definitely plan on going back and recommended...
