Today, my family and I visited your McDonald's at 18200 Wedge Pkwy, Reno, NV 89511, with the intention of getting something for my son to eat. I must admit that I'm not particularly fond of fast food, but your French fries happen to be one of the few things my son enjoys. As we arrived, we chose the nearest driveway to the building since the other drive-thru lane was blocked by a construction cone. Surprisingly, there was no line and no other cars in the drive-thru. However, we sat there for a couple of moments without being acknowledged or greeted by any staff members. I glanced around and noticed that the restaurant appeared to be open. We waited a little longer, but still, no one approached us.
Feeling a bit frustrated, I decided to back out of the drive-thru and park in one of the spots in front of the restaurant. I entered the building, and to my disappointment, the kiosk had a message directing customers to the counter for ordering. Standing at the counter, I expected to be greeted, but once again, no one acknowledged my presence. It was clear that the restaurant was open because there were other customers waiting for their orders. After waiting for a few moments with no assistance, I leaned over the counter to peer into the back area. I noticed some employees in the distance, but none of them made eye contact or approached me. Growing impatient, I waited a bit longer and then leaned over the counter again. This time, I spotted a lady closer to the front of the counter. I called out to get her attention, and eventually, she came up to take my order. I can't recall if she apologized for the delay or any inconveniences, but I would like to note that she spoke so quickly that I could barely understand her. I placed my order, paid for it, and that was the end of the interaction.
If it hadn't been for the fact that I needed to get food for my son, I would have left and sought out another place to eat.
I don't have my receipt, but I do have the order tag. It was Take-out order #234 register Sidel...
Read moreEh, what can I say here... Hadn't been to a Micky D's in close to a decade, hasn't changed. At all! Double Cheeseburger is still HELLA good lol Also, horrible. I had 2 :) Road trip home from Vegas got us turned around outside Reno due to snowfall and "whiteout conditions" on I80. So; burgers and fries, why not! Fries sucked cause it was freezing out and I'm pretty sure the 12 year old working that night (it was like 10pm) didn't want to be there. It was pretty obvious when I went to retrieve said french fries and they were upside down in the bag. Honest mistake except my wife's french fries we're also located in a perpendicular fashion directed towards the bottom of the paper receptacle housing our items. Somehow got warm soda even though the temperature was reading 27 degrees outside. Again I will remind you it was 10 p.m. and there was about 6 inches of snow on the ground... Minimal ice melted leaving warm, watered down Dr. Pepper. Yumm. One warm burger, one "warm" burger. Fresh one was great. The one off the hot rack sucked. Wifes burger was also "warm" leaving her soured and wanting to be home even more... Caught each other on a good day at a bad...
Read moreMy son called me last night...he was walking back from #MCDonalds after getting his usual 2 cheeseburgers and fries. He loves that place...and I've never denied him of that small pleasure - despite his health and GI issues. But did you catch that? He was walking back, alone....after going there by himself. I'm in Henderson...he's in Reno "working on his career" with #CarChayce 💛
What was supposed to be a nice opportunity for him to go and buy dinner by himself....didn't go the way he planned.
The place was pretty quiet.
He waited a very LONG time for his food.
When he finally got it....the 25+ year old woman who works there went to hand him his bag - but then she made a terrible decision. She reached into his bag, took some of his fries, ate them, and proceeded to mock his reaction of shock.
She mocked my son out loud. In front of him, and other workers. At his expense.
He called me as he was walking back.
His words of confusion and disappointment were a severe assault on my give-everyone-the-benefit-of-the-doubt heart.
This story really tells of my fears and the fears of many parents I know.
I am letting this one simmer - for the...
