Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Rice Lake

My family has been going to the rice lake Wisconsin applebees since they opened & generally we have had good experiences, however when my brother, mom & I recently visited the restaurant my brother & I ordered the all you can eat riblets & chicken tenders but that's not what we got! When the waitress brought out our 1st plate we both had decent servings of both the riblets and the chicken tenders. we were done with our 1st plate and sitting at the table for nearly a 1/2 hour before our server even came back to the table to ask if we wanted another order put in & When she brought our 2nd plate out my brother had 3 small chicken tenders on his plate and I had one small riblet on mine... after our 2nd order was put in it took another 20-30 minutes before our plates were brought out & at that point we were ready to leave. there was no shortage of French fries on either of our plates but that isn't what we were there for. If a restaurant is going to advertise an all you can eat platter of some kind that's exactly what it needs to be. My brother & I were both very disappointed in the all you can eat chicken tender platter & the riblets platter. If we wanted an all you can eat French fry platter that's exactly what we would have ordered, however we were not only disappointed with the platters we ordered but we were also disappointed with the service. 2 servers got into a disagreement right next to our table & the table behind us & that was really unprofessional. those kinds of issues should be dealt with in a private setting not where customers are sitting & not within ear shot of paying costumers. The all you can eat platters are false advertising at its finest & it's not worth the price they charge! We were very unsatisfied with the food & service we received. During our time in the restaurant we were passed by several servers who saw both my brother and I sitting with empty plates trying to get the attention of someone however no one even tried to help my brother or I and when it came time to pay the bill we could not find a single worker who would help us and there were over 10 people on the floor who saw us struggling and did not even try to come up...

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Applebee's recently, and I wanted to take a moment to share just how incredible the service was, particularly from Grace and Magaly. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality that made us feel right at home.

Grace, our host, was incredibly attentive and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. She greeted us promptly and walked us through the menu, making thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. Her upbeat energy and friendly demeanor immediately made us feel like valued guests. She checked in with us at just the right moments, never hovering but always there when we needed. Grace’s attention to detail was impressive.

Magaly, the other host working alongside Grace, also played a big role in making our experience unforgettable. She was equally as warm and attentive, helping ensure that everything ran smoothly. It was clear that both Grace and Magaly were working together seamlessly, creating a team dynamic that elevated our dining experience. They coordinated their efforts with such ease, bringing out our food with perfect timing and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.

Both Grace and Magaly truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time. The food came out fresh and delicious, and they even made sure to ask if there was anything else they could do to enhance our experience. Their positive attitudes and commitment to providing top-notch service really stood out, and it made the meal feel more like an experience rather than just a simple dinner.

By the time we were done, we were genuinely impressed with how well they worked together, and we left with smiles on our faces. The service from Grace and Magaly was a perfect example of what exceptional hospitality looks like, and it’s one of the main reasons we’ll definitely be coming back to Applebee's in the future. If you’re lucky enough to have them serve you, you’re in for an unforgettable...

So we have gone here three times now, and each time has been awful!! The first time we went in and had to do a wait like normal, no biggy, until they starting seating everyone before us that had just arrived. We were told that it would be a 15 min wait, then when we seen that people were going a head of us we asked the hostess what's going on. She explained that she had forgot we were there. So we left, I called the restaurant on our way to another one, and spoke with the manager there and explained what happen. She then asked us if we would like coupons for another time that we would visit. Since we were having problems finding a place to eat, she helped us by giving us takeout for free. I was grateful for that. Then we went again, to give them a second chance, we ended getting a server that was just rude and our food was ok I guess. So a couple of months later figuring they had been hiring a bunch of new people since the last time we were there, we'd give them another go. So we walk in and wait by the door the hostess looked at as then just turned her back to us. I assumed she was just trying to figure out how she was going to help the other couple that was waiting before us. She didn't even say hi welcome to Applebee's or even verbally acknowledge us. We waited a couple of mins by the door then decided to go sit at the benches provided. The hostess was talking under her breath about where to seat the couple before us, she then went to go clean tables I though but just did a circle around the dinning room floor. All the mean time the servers and other staff were just standing by the kitchen and the bar talking. The hostess came back to her stand then looked at us again, still never verbally acknowledged us, then ask the couple to follow her. After sitting there now going on 10 mins with no acknowledgement of us, we decided to leave!! We will NEVER go back to this horribly ran restaurant. If you plan to go here expect to be disappointed horrible staff and service Everytime...
