Hobby Lobby — Local services in Rice Lake

The 1 star is for the staff. An employee dropped a large metal shelf on me. I was apologized to, but when I asked if they had an ice pack, or one in a first aid kit I was told that the first aid kit was for employees only. I asked another staff member for ice, and was told I could purchase one up the road at Walmart. I could hardly walk, and stated that, and also stated that I didn't want to make an extra stop, and have to walk through Walmart. The manager gave me a weird look, and walked away. I tried contacting the store after getting home, and never got in touch with a manager. Very poor customer service! Especially when the first staff member should not have tried to move a large shelf on her own. There was no signs out anywhere in the area to indicate that they were rearranging shelving, and products. Even tho I could clearly see the shelf laying on the floor the staff member shouldn't have tried to move it with me standing inches from it.

This store offers a variety of beautiful things. Displays are wonderfully put together. I would give a higher rating if the employees would show a friendly attitude. It seems as if those working at this Hobby Lobby exhibit an attitude of "Not liking the job". No friendly hellos, or offers of how to help. No friendly chit-chat at the check out counter. Customer service and a friendly smile could go a long way. My daughter loves this store and she doesn't seem to be bothered by the unfriendly environment, but I usually feel sad when I leave the store. A very strange unfriendly vibe to say the least. We have spent quite a bit of money here for wedding prep and decorations. Even, furniture. Maybe I am old fashioned, but something is...

Friendly staff, okay prices, still a REALLY tedious checkout process. The Rice Lake location, however, is clean and appears well staffed overall. I'm still not a fan of the increasing religiosity peddled by this company. There are religious extremist books and literature just beyond the registers that promote misogyny, and hostile behavior to non-christians. This has only gotten worse over the years, I'm afraid, as I recall there always being inspirational christian media in my youth but now, well, there are more insidious titles peppered in. It concerns me as I already live in a VERY religious community which includes those of Muslim and Jewish faiths. Sometimes I wonder if this is what Jesus would...
