This photo has been going around on Facebook. I noticed it today 6/9/24 and their is alot of mix reviews but me as a parent is against it. Unless your workers are calling out every day and using that as an excuse then I can understand the true meaning of this sign. However, if a child is sick every several months and the worker can show proof of such a doctor note that the child must stay home then that's different. But if a parent have a child with a disability like autism and have unexpected outbursts and needs to leave work early then that's different. But you as the owner cannot take a parent responsibility away when it comes to that worker family. You at least should show compassion and a understanding that family emergencies comes 1st. And if your pay is not great either then there is no need for any living soul to work there including highschool students and have your long time business close for good. Perhaps you might wanna rethink about this sign, cause unless this sign applies to you and yours(family) when a loved one gets sick then your only looking out for the best of interest for yourself but not your employees. People don't leave bad jobs, they leave...
Read moreAs someone who has worked BOH for many years, straight up, the service is a joke. watching food sit in the window for 3- 5 min when its items that will get cold in that time...come on, no communication from boh to FOH, my waitress, while peppy seemed more coked out than willing to actually take an order and have that true small town diner hospitality. The french toast batter had obviously been sitting for at least a day or two and the flat top is set to high due to the amount of camilzation on the outside and the unset status of the middle of my food.Down home local place with good pricing? yeah sure, but also, dont expect to feel like part of the family if you are a young chef who doesnt fit the cliche of said types of areas either. The menu, is basic, nothing stands out or pops, nothing has that "local" flair or makes you feel they have something they specialize in, at the end of the day, the same people who will like this, are the same people who...
Read moreMaxine's is a great small town family diner. Maxine's daughter has been running the place for a long time now, but you can still find Maxine in there, directing you to a table, or pouring coffee, or cashing you out.
The atmosphere is very homey. It could use an overhaul and update, but, nobody around here would see the need for that, and I agree. The decor is changed out based on up coming holidays/season. It's very charming, and just adds to the coziness.
The food is pretty amazing, if I say so. I know a couple of people who disagree, but they're few and far between. I've always gone for breakfast, and have tried several different things, but my favorite by far is the country fried steak breakfast. Stop in for breakfast, and it'll be loud and busy! Great place to take your kids without judgement if they get a...
