O'Brien's Pub — Restaurant in Rice

Live 2 blocks away and love coming here with my wife. We always order pizza ! Great service and the owners are usually around and fun ! Also as far as the review goes below with Brady becker I was here that night as I don’t see the owner upset literally ever! It was a Saturday the night of the trump rally (go trump) and there was a kid around kicking a volleyball around into our table twice and wandering everywhere . At one point my wife and I were like where is the parent ? After going behind the bar at least twice that I saw the owner talk to them and they left. Just wanted to clarify on that as a witness. And it was much closer to 6 than 7 because the rally speech was at 7. And it was at least a half an hour before that if not more . The dad never seemed rude or anything but literally keep track of your kid IF you are going to bring him to a bar! The owner just laid down the law that SHOULD already be common sense to parents but apparently not. I get that it’s common for a parent to want to believe their child isn’t in the wrong or give the benefit as well, but those are the facts !

Owner kicked us out because I had my 2 year old kid with us. No sign saying kids aren't allowed or anything. Owner was drunk and about as rude as you can be. Do better.

I'll update too since owner knows how to lie through his teeth to try to make himself not look like the bad guy. My son did take 2 steps behind the bar and touched a light underneath the bar before I grabbed him he maybe was back there for 3 seconds and it definitely couldn't have been dangerous because there was 3 people at the bar and no bartender behind the bar so not like there was any real danger going to happen when know one is getting served drinks and I never once said my kid could play in the volleyball court because you pretty much told us to get out because a toddler is having fun in a sand volleyball court and touched a light so we left never said one word to. And it was 7pm dude if families can't come in and get some food and then you tell them to leave because they have a kid with your not running a successful business. Really good thin crust pizza. Sound cut out during last 2 minutes of Vikings game, & the owner had a hard time getting the game back on. But, it finally came on w/1 min left.

I'm changing stars from 3 to 4. After reading the owner's response, I agree, he's right. Stuff happens! The thin crust pizza was awesome, lots of toppings & cheese (meat pizza). Wait staff was on top of everything, friendly, & were able to check out relatively fast, considering the Vikings game just ended. Didn't get a chance to meet the owner, but he was stocking, helping the waitresses, mingling & making cocktails with everyone at the bar, & seemed like a happy, likeable guy.
