Jerk-N-Go Olympia Fields — Restaurant in Rich Township

This was a terrible experience with this place. It was my family’s first time ordering from here and we will never be back. We ordered a pan of jerk chicken for our Christmas Eve party at 12:19PM and was informed that our order will be ready at 5:30PM. I returned at 5:30PM and was told that they were still working on the food and those who ordered days before for catering would be priority. Those who ordered days prior were waiting for their food longer than some of the people who ordered their food the day of. Our complaints were met by disrespect from the owner and the only cook who was talking about the costumers as if we weren’t there and couldn’t hear them. The owner said that we should be grateful that he was being nice for allowing us to order food despite having orders his restaurant hadn’t fulfilled from days prior. It got so bad a man had to call the police to receive a refund. I waited for 2 hours for some mediocre jerk chicken. As a manager/owner, how are you angry at costumers who are angry because you promised a service and that service wasn’t fulfilled? Many people’s event was over by the time they received their chicken. Along with me, it was about 7 other people who ordered pans of chicken at 12PM and was told to come back at 5:30PM and forced to wait as the owner and cook was talking about us. Not to mention, for catering orders, they require you to pay cash. To me, this suggests that they knew they would be behind and to keep people from disputing charges and leaving without their food, they forced people to pay in cash and wait as they played around in the back and refused refunds. The cashier made it known that she did not want to be there. I mean known known. I placed my order at 6:21pm and was told it would be 25 minutes. I didn't get my food until 7:22pm. The order was incorrect. I won't even comment on the other customers looooooooooong wait, door dash orders cancelled by the restaurant, the cashier constantly coughing with her gloves on and she bagged orders, and staff arguing with each other that one parent asked should we be scared. I ordered fried wings and got grilled. The beef pattie was burnt. The mac was so dry you could sand a table. The yams were subpar. The rice and beans had no juice, you know we love the juice. Yeah, I won't return here. And they have the NERVE to have a tip jar. Here is a tip. Because the food is made to order (thank you for that sign), there should be another sign that says ALL ORDERS ARE A MINIMUM OF 40 MINUTES WAIT. Set realistic expectations of the wait time so that 1. The cashier doesn't lie about how long the food will take and 2. The expectation is set upfront and patrons don't get angry that their food is not ready when told. That one was free, the next tip...

I gave this a two star because sometimes the food is on point and sometimes it is not. The first time I ate at this location the food was so delicious. It was fresh, hot and tender. I believe they have different cooks because it can be drastically different. The other day I ordered two whole white chicken. One was perfect and the other appeared to be put together. For example the wings are generally sliced in half, one had 2 tiny whole burnt wings. In the same container they mixed fresh tender pieces with dry meat. The other plate was perfect. Today I only order one whole white. Thinking that would make a difference, it was horrible. Extremely dry and cold with same pieces that don’t make a whole breast. Every piece had breast bones. After waiting 30mins, I expected it to be on point. I’m pretty sure I won’t return especially since their policy is no exchange or refund. I couldn’t eat it. It was just that dry. I am also giving it a two because another time I ordered a whole white along with a whole dark and they gave me half orders. I did call to let them know and the lady acknowledged the error. I took the loss and didn’t go back....
