Captain Hooks of Flossmoor — Restaurant in Rich Township

Very poor customer service. We often went to this particular one when they were located off Flossmoor road and never had an issue. However, since they’ve relocated, their customer service has dropped tremendously. One time waiting for or an hour for our food and no one could figure out why it was taking to so long, only to find out it was in the warmer the whole time. No one took the time to actually look. I tried them again after they apologized and after paying for extra fries and they didn’t even give them to my pick up person. This last and final time which was this evening. We put our order in and went next door to give them time to prepare the order. Once we returned I noticed my order sitting there. I confirmed with the cooks if it was my order and they didn’t even bother handing me my order. I then asked the cashier after we waited til she took like 6 people in line before she called the next person if she could just hand us our order. She replied let me just take the next person. There were multiple people in line and more walking in. I explain that we were already waiting and if she could hand it to us which takes all of 1 min. Then she asked the cooked to do it and he replied that it’s only been sitting there a few minutes with a nasty attitude. I had never heard of Captain Hooks and I’m not into community, fast food joints at all. It’s also been a long time since I’ve eaten any fried chicken. I didn’t feel like going home to cook nor going to a restaurant: wasn’t feeling long wait times nor was I feeling like being in people company this evening. I saw Captain Hooks of Flossmoor while searching UberEats. I went on Google maps to view its location and its menu. I liked the location and the chicken offerings. I ordered fried thighs and drumsticks. The order arrived 45 minutes earlier than indicated. When I say the chicken was delicious, the chicken was just that, delicious!! I really thought I’d probably made a mistake. One can imagine my reaction to discover how good it truly was. Each piece had well, balanced seasoning, the skin was fried just right: crispy and lightly crunchy. Here’s the best part, the chicken was FRESH and HOT, not cold, not warm, not refried. The chicken was hot and succulent. Each piece was juicy; not oily. I only ordered one side, their coleslaw and it was good too. I don’t care for overly sweet, saucy, vinegary slaw. I have no idea why they do not have 5 stars but I love them and highly recommend them. The service is unmatched by any restaurant. They are always kind. It's clear they want you to come back. I love their professionalism. And their food is just as good as their service if not better. I highly recommended the Philly cheese steak, burgers and wings. They made the mistake of forgetting my coleslaw 1 time (bc they are human) and they fixed it by refunding it without me having to go in. I wish they sold pizza; then they would be our family's 1 stop shop for American favorites. My only other suggestion is to become more consistent with the temperature of your french fries and cheesesticks. Sometimes they are hot and perfect (tastes fresh) other times they taste older. That's it. The entres are always hot with great flavor and I will drive 15 minutes and pass up all the other similar restaurants near me (there are 4 of them) to go straight here....
