Honest experience. Save yourself the time, money, health, and safety by not going. If I could I would of given him a -1000 stars. But since I can’t he get a 1. I usually don’t give bad reviews but it’s been many days and I’m still getting bad vibes and nightmares front this place so I have to write this out.
1- Ice cream was nothing special, nothing too spectacular. No special flavours or anything.
2- Rude man working, kept on yelling and acting like he hated the customers. Kept yelling, what do you want? What do you want? He Didn’t know how to make a Sundae. I asked him what he put in it. After him telling me the toppings, he proceeded to ask me what I want on it. I thought it came with all the toppings he listed, which consisted of only chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, and twix candy bar powder. Not even twix pieces, but twix powder. For the price and name of the shoppe, I expected something more up to par.
3- Very expensive Spent $49.?? Almost 50$ for 9 very small single scoops, which all together would of made a pint which I could of gotten at Walmart for 4$.
4- A cold dingy hotdog, poorly made hotdog. Only relish was on the hotdog.
5- dirty shoppe
6 -I’m traumatised-Gave me a horrible impression on this place. I regret going there and miss the quality customer service. Even a McDonald’s has better service.
All and all, Even if he had regular not so special ice cream and small scoops , I wouldn’t write a bad review, I’d actually feel pity on him and give him benefit of the doubt, but because of his bad, rude, and scary attitude plus the uncleanliness, I just had to be honest. I don’t know how this shop isn’t closed or how he even makes money. All his customers must be new ones that don’t know about this shoppe and mistakenly come to it. I really don’t know. But save yourself the time and money and safety of going to a culver, grocery store to get...
Read moreThe owner has never really been friendly or appreciative of anyone’s business when I’ve been in, which is annoying at best. When in the service industry, I personally don’t like when folx act like they’re doing me a favor by simply being there. If you don’t like what you’re doing, find a different job! Having worked in the service industry, I know how difficult it can be. But when you own a business and clearly don’t like people, then sell it.
Today I went online to see what time they would be open since their hours have not been regular yet and it said 1pm. I arrived around 1:15pm with my daughter and it was not open. We sat down at the table outside and figured we would wait. Shortly thereafter, a woman and her 3-year old granddaughter arrived. I told her they were not yet opened. They peeked inside and she pointed out that there was someone in there. I looked in, figuring the owner would be behind the counter getting things ready. Instead, he was sitting in a booth on his phone. The woman and child left within a couple of minutes and we continued to sit, figuring that with four people outside his door, it might prompt him to open, but it didn’t. We sat a few more minutes and then left.
The season is just starting. Is this the kind of service we can expect...
Read moreThis review is based on first impressions only (I didn't actually have any ice cream).
We attended the Penn Fest today and at one of the booths my son spun a wheel to win a "prize." I admit I wasn't paying much attention to what the booth was promoting. My son just wanted to spin any wheel he could. I saw a lady hand him a little piece of paper and told him to "try some ice cream across the street." I assumed it was the ice cream parlor, but I later found out it was actually for a sample milkshake at Penn Nutrition (next door to Cone Bros).
We walked into the ice cream shop and my son showed the guy standing there his paper. The guy in a rude tone said "what's that for?" I was embarrassed and knew I must have gone to the wrong place. I said to the guy "oh, I'm not sure." He responded in a rude tone still "well its not for here." He then walked away. Didn't even ask if we wanted to try a sample or buy something (which we would have if he had attempted to make polite conversation). The individual working left a lot to be desired.
We went to Penn Nutrition to redeem the sample milkshake and while they don't have any thing I'm interested in, all 4 of the ladies in there...
