MUST READ FOR FIRST-TIME MATTRESS BUYERS ON A BUDGET! I went into Mattress Firm with no idea what I wanted, much less what I needed. I didn’t know the difference between a good or bad mattress, the value of a quality mattress, or a concept of what was right for my body’s sleep habits. So, when I set out to purchase my first mattress on a budget, I did what many people do—I read endless articles online comparing different bed-in-a-box mattress brands that would be friendly on my wallet and shuttered at the thought of having to dish out $1,000 on a bed. What a painfully confusing process, am I right?! This is when I found Mattress Firm, where I all but sprinted to the budget section before meeting my sleep experts, Josh and Tre. I do mean SLEEP EXPERTS. Not only did they thoroughly answer my questions, but they went a step further and answered the questions that I didn’t even know to ask. In the end, I didn’t leave with a budget mattress that would allow me to surrender to the easiest solution and get the whole thing over with. I left with the most perfect Tempurpedic Pro-Adapt that will fit MY personalized needs for many years to come, and I couldn’t be happier! No, I’m not a sucker who was an easy up-sell. Instead, both Josh and Tre helped to best educate me (patiently and at my own pace) so that I could make the most well-informed buying-decision possible. Why spend $1,000 on the wrong mattress when I could take advantage of 0% financing and get what I really NEED? Despite originally dreading the experience and expense of buying a mattress, I couldn’t be more excited about my new Tempurpedic. Thanks to Josh’s and Tre’s expertise, I had the freedom to make the best investment in myself that I ever have. Now you can invest in yourself, too! Read moreI recently purchased a King size mattress and box spring, specifically the Simmons Beautyrest Providence plush pillow top. My husband and I worked with Derek U. on deciding what mattress to purchase, I was pleased with the service. He wasn't pushy and seemed knowledgeable on the numerous mattresses they sold. We have had the mattress for about a month, I thought it was too firm at first, but I seem to be getting used to it. My husband is happy with it and thinks it is plush enough. I like the fact I've got another three months to make a decision if I want to get a different mattress if the current one is too firm. I would recommend purchasing the mattress protector they have in the store, we bought it and I like it because it is thin and not bulky like some of the mattress protectors I've had in the past (and it actually stays on the mattress and doesn't slip off!). I would not purchase the sheets they sell in the store, I found them cheaper at another place. But definitely get the mattress protector they sell so you don't void your warranty, it is worth it! Overall we have had a good experience with the store and the...
Read moreI didn't know until I went out looking for a new mattress that I seem to enjoy shopping for them with almost the equal level of disdain I have for car shopping.
The sales team member quickly described the shopping experience there as comparable to the "Best Buy" of mattresses. I think that was supposed to be a positive because it means they have the most competitive pricing, but it didn't exactly land in the win column for me.
We were, of course, shown mattresses priced multiples times more than we were planning to spend before we were really even asked what we're looking for. The salesperson self-described his approach to helping us shop for a mattress as "strictly informational and educational" but we seemed to hear lots of contradictory statements about what kind of mattress we should buy. I think he meant well, but it seemed clear when you walk in the store they're pretty sure they're looking to lock in a sale before you leave.
In the end we found something we felt was of better quality and value at a factory direct...
