I love Valley Dairy!! The food is awesome and we've never had to wait long at all before our meals were served! The waitresses are very friendly, nice to talk to and check on you to make sure you have everything you need. I would have given Valley Dairy 5 stars if one thing wouldn't have happened. I believe it was the manager who decided to have words with the waitresses which I understand sometimes you need to have a talk with your employees...But you don't do it when in the area where you have customers sitting close by to hear everything you're saying. That's very unprofessional and not something I want to hear when I'm having dinner. I'm a natural peacekeeper, try to have some patience, treat your employees like family, talk to them with respect, everything you give them, will be returned many times over. You need them as much as they need their job, it's less stressful to talk to them in a caring manner, As the manager, you always need to set an example, you never know how you might change someone's life. I felt so bad for my waitress, I left her a large tip!! These are not just positions you hold, you'll not only have a calmer work environment but a much happier one. Other than that the manager was always very nice, he would walk around to the tables and ask how everything was, a very pleasant person, I thought he really added a nice charm to the place. But sometimes it only takes one thing to turn your thinking around. Maybe the last time I was there, and he was having words with his waitresses, he was just having a bad day? Recently, anytime I was asked where I wanted to eat, I mentioned Valley Dairy, I said it always reminds me of an iHOP (or iHOB) but when you have one uncomfortable time, you're now real quick to return. I will go back, it's a very nice place to sit down, relax and enjoy some...
Read moreI am a fan of Valley Dairy, Indiana and Blairsville are good stores. However I went to Johnstown so ate there. It was very bad. First you can't sit at the counter because seats are welded to the floor and they leave no room to sit down or get up. The staff was pleasant. The food? Well as a cook with decades of experience I have no idea how you serve home fries that are colder than room temperature. Maybe they are pre-cooked and they refrigerate them and didn't heat them up? Cold potatoes are not good. Then toast apparently if you order sourdough toast it costs $2 for 2 pieces of toast, just before coming i bought a liaf of sourdough for $2.57, now thats marked up and my toast arrivedripped in half by hand, use a knife much? The chicken fried steak had about 1 teaspoon of sausage gravy and it was watered down. I couldn't even spread it over the smaller sized patty they are using. I get it everything costs more. But if you are increasing the price 25% and downsizing portions 25% that is doubling prices. And unless your market that attracts consumers who want to pay more for less and wants unappealing poor tasting food you need to deliver quality food.
Tried to respond to th owner. Even called corporate. Nope no answer to correct lousy meal so 1 star for customer service. Just trying to scam readers. Going to try Gimmicks in...
Read moreWell, where do I even start? This place is like a bad date – awkward, disappointing, and full of regret. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with the unmistakable scent of old fryer grease and desperation. The menu looked like it hadn’t changed since the 1980s, and I’m starting to think it hasn’t because they’re too busy counting their ancient regulars to care about freshening things up.
The service? I think the waiter was either having a midlife crisis or just didn't want to be there, but either way, her enthusiasm for life matched the limp lettuce on my salad. As for the food, the ‘signature’ burger tasted like a sad, microwaved hockey puck dressed in whatever expired condiments they could find. Honestly, I’ve had better meals at a gas station.
The vibe? Imagine a soul-sucking fluorescent nightmare that screams "why are you still here?" at every corner. If you want a depressing reminder of why people leave their hometowns, this is the spot for you. Do yourself a favor – skip this place and go anywhere else. Trust me, even a packet of ramen would...
