Bangkok Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Richland

I came one evening with a small group, and had the fresh rummer rolls and the Massaman curry. The summer rolls were fine, but the dipping sauce was effectively peanut butter and didn't have any other flavors.

The problem was with the curry itself. I know that the decision of whether to add rice to the curry or pour the curry over the rice is individual, but I've always preferred to add the rice to the curry, letting it soak up more of the curry. Normally, this isn't a problem, but this Massaman curry was bland and flavorless, and the rice only exacerbated the problem.

I understand that Massaman curry has a lighter flavor than most curries, but it does have a flavor, and I ordered it medium heat. Even the spice was barely detectable, as I tried drinking the liquid without the rice. One of the people I was with, who also regularly eats Thai food tried it and agreed that it didn't taste like anything. I tried her eggplant stir fry and it tasted fine, so it was likely just this dish.

I was trying to be understanding at this point, so I relayed this to the owner, who was acting as the server. All would have been forgiven if I just got something else. It was just this particular dish that didn't taste like anything. However, I was told that I would have to pay for the dish because I had added rice to it and this was the reason it didn't taste like anything.

No. I have eaten this dish at multiple Thai restaurants. I'm not calling myself a connoisseur, but I have had it before several times at multiple other restaurants, and there, the rice simply cuts the spice.

I give this restaurant two stars only because my dining companions seemed to enjoy their dishes, but I will never return here, both due to the poor customer service and the inconsistent quality...

Really good and unique food to Richland. I haven't found another place around that has Thai curry or Tom kha and the quality of them was very good for everything my friends and I tried. I had the massaman curry (shrimp), Tom kha soup(veggi), and summer rolls. Good for if you would like to try a curry but cannot handle a lot of spice, it had zero spice(massaman). The summer rolls were what you would expect but the peanut sauce was very plain and probably the only thing we had that was not particularly exciting. My friends has the pineapple curry which was tasty but very lightly spiced, the noodle dish with crystal noodles (chicken) (which was probably my favourite thing of this ensemble though I cannot remember the name of the dish) and some small chicken ragoons. Service was very good, our waitress was very attentive without being too much and kept our glasses filled...

DO NOT ORDER THRU DOORDASH AT THIS RESTAURANT. The man working the front will give your order to anyone who walks through the front door. I have never been asked to prove who I am when picking my food up, I have just been lucky enough to be the first person there claiming to be picking up a doordash order. The food I ordered tonight was picked up by the wrong person and I was told there was nothing they could to and to take it up with doordash even though I set my order for pickup so my food was supposed to be handed directly to me.
