This is definitely a no-frills restaurant. The bathroom was a little iffy and the indoor seating (used by winter visitors, like me) is minimal. It took a while for us to get our food. It appears that many of the patrons of this restaurant order takeout, which is maybe why it took so long for our food to come out; many people came and went with their takeout orders. Something very annoying to me was the fact that everything is served in the kind of hotdog boats you get at a concession stand; flimsy and too small for any of the sandwiches they serve, especially considering how messy they are. It wouldn't hurt them to serve things on reasonably-sized plates, even if they're paper. Apart from these things, I loved the Club Med sandwich. I think goat cheese in sandwiches isn't used enough, and I was happy to eat a sandwich that had goat cheese and tasted excellent. I also ordered the black bean soup to try, and that was significantly less good. I don't know how flavorful the soup is supposed to be, because all I could taste was black pepper. I'm not exaggerating; the pepper overpowered whatever else was in the black bean soup. I could taste the black beans a little, but that was it. I didn't finish this soup because I just wasn't enjoying it. My dad had the BLT and really liked it, saying there was a lot of bacon and it had good flavor. My mom thought her gyro was very good, but the slaw was not good at all and she didn't finish it. I think I will come back to get the Club Med again, but next time...

I placed an order for delivery online about 1 hour before they closed. The Grubhub app confirmed that the restaurant was making my order, then I waited patiently. Assuming they could easily be backed up and busy or down a person, when it was running a few minutes late I thought it's no problem and continued to wait.
However, about 20 minutes after the late end of the estimated delivery time, I called. It rang and rang and rang, no one answered. Still in good faith I thought I should wait patiently, so I gave it another 20 minutes before calling again. No answer. App still just said the order was in the works.
When the order was pushing 1h45m late, I gave one final call before contacting Grubhub, cancelling the order, and getting a refund. At that time, the app STILL said the order was in the works. I was never contacted by the restaurant or the driver. They never answered any calls. I ordered online with time to spare before closing, so even if they knew they couldn't fulfill the order, all they had to do was contact me and let me know. They did nothing.
There's no professionalism there. I am completely okay with restaurants being behind because of very busy hours or lack of staff or things like that, out of control, that slow them down. I can wait. But they never communicated at all.
Heard the food was good, but I'm not going to bother trying...
Read moreI've tried so hard to like Fozzie's, but every time I go I recall why I avoid it. At noon we placed an order online for pickup at 5:30pm en route to an event. We didn't walk out with our order until 6:00pm. This alone wouldn't typically merit a bad review, but I've had to wait like this every time I've eaten there. To top it off, two individuals placed walk-in orders and left with their sandwiches in the span that we were waiting for our order. It was abundantly clear that their system for prepping and organizing orders is broken - the staff (who were very nice, for what its worth) were chaotically checking and rechecking tickets, asking the cooks what this or that sandwich was, telling them they still lacked XYZ. In the end they gave us some brownies for the trouble, but had forgotten to throw our chips in and had to chase our car down in the lot. As for the sandwiches themselves, I don't get the hype. My chicken parm looked like cafeteria chicken tenders had been dropped on a piece of bread with pizza sauce poured on top. Other sammies are so overloaded with greens it is like trying to cram an entire salad into your mouth. With all of STL's other sandwich gems, I won't be giving Fozzie's...
