Our first time in started out great. It was a Sunday evening and Kevin was our bartender and was fabulous! Once Kareoke started me and four others transferred from the bar to the wall bar beside the pool tables.. We all ordered another round. Me and a girlfriend decided to sing kareoke and left our drinks literally right in front of our purses with our friends right beside them. While we we're singing kareoke there was an employee (not a server, bartender, food runner, busser- she sat in a chair and watched people sing).. She literally came up and took our drinks (mine and the friend I was singing with)- our drinks hadn't even had a sip taken from them yet because as soon as we ordered and paid for them we were called for kareoke. Our friends asked what she was doing taking our drinks and she didn't say anything and kept walking. When I was done singing I politely asked her why she took our drinks while we were singing and she said "they should have been in your hand".. I explained to her that we were singing and that's why they were sitting with our purses with our group of people and she ROLLED HER EYES and walked away. Her reasoning didn't make any sense whatsoever considering there were half empty/full beers/cocktails sitting everywhere with nobody even close to them and she didn't touch them.. I walked up to the bar to explain what happened to the bartender in attempts to get our drinks replaced and as soon as the bartender walked away to make our drinks, this girl went up to him and whispered something and the bartender came back and said she told him that my group of friends and myself were lying that she never took our drinks.. So we decided to leave and when we were leaving she looked right in my eye and sarcastically laughed. The only reason I gave two stars was because Kevin is awesome! We...
Read moreWith a couple of tweaks, this place could be perfect! Me and 1 other person went here after our original plan was ruined, and we had an overall great time. It's a small little bar, but it was also really welcoming. We went on a Sunday night, which was also karaoke night and even though the workers had to get the first song out of the way, loads of people sang!
Everyone was super nice, patrons and workers! There was also such a diverse group of people, which I really appreciated, and everyone talked to everyone. As much as I loved this place, how much fun we had, and how welcoming the atmosphere was, there were some negatives.
We were disappointed with the bartender that served us, i think her nane was Camilla or something similar. She welcomed us and made our first round, then walked away and didn't return. In order for my +1 to get another drink, the bartender had to basically be chased down. We didn't even place our food order with her because we struggled to get attention. We just ordered at the walk up. Then after a certain time, 10 I think, you can only order tacos. We ordered the traditional versions of our tacos and, it started off great but, the more we ate it the more bland it became. You get 3 tacos and neither of us made it through 2, plus the only sauce available was extremely spicy. We wanted a medium type sauce.
Outside of those 2 minor issues, this place was great! It's definitely still worth...

There being open now in Scott's Addition, and opening a second location at some point soonish (?) Is a blessing. Their tacos. Pha-freaking-nomenal. Easily. By far. Best taco place In the city. In my opinion I would almost say to always get the Carnitas Taco, Corn Tortilla, Tradition Style. They're perfect, but again, I would only almost say that.
Which is because every other taco on the menu is also great. Am I going to say you should absolutely get the corn tortillas every time? Yes. Corn is better then flour, I know it, you know it, flour knows it. Am I going to absolutely say Traditional style is superior. Well yeah. Tell you what though. The flour tortillas. Really still an amazing taco, and that's even with what I would call an inferior tortilla. It's still a better taco then most other restaurants in the city. The other style, which I'm having a really hard time remembering the name of (honestly) has cheese sour cream. Those guys. Still phenomenal, for me, takes away from the meat too much. If it's for you though, let me tell ya, they get the balance just right.
Best is, tacos are cheap, locations great, who doesn't love a game or 2 of pool, and the staff are awesome. If you want a taco, go, and don't look back at any other place in the city, you...
