It was very busy, we had our dog, so my husband asked if we could sit on the very small patio. They told us yes, but it would be 10- 15 minutes. We sat and waited for another group to finish, it was 3 tables for 2 pushed together to accommodate 6. When they finished and left, we moved over to one of the tables for 2 and pushed it away from the other two tables. We had been told to sit anywhere and we waited patiently for this group to finish because we did not want to sit with the sun in our face. Another group of 8 that came in way after us comes out and confronts us saying we took their seat. I said “No sir”, you walked right passed us even commenting on my dog, knowing full well we were there first, and we NEEDED and outdoor table because of the dog. I guess they go in and tattle on us, a staff member comes out and says this was the table of 8 we told them they could have.. I told her “No, ma’am we have been waiting 10-15 minutes before the other party showed”, the seating was first come first serve” and I had cleared the table myself” . And it was not a table for 8, it was 3 tables of 2 pushed together to accommodate 6.8 people wouldn’t even fit at the tables. I politely tell them they are more than welcome to have the other 2 tables we are not using and that there was another 2 top table, but we wanted to be out of the sun. The next thing I know they pull the party of 8 inside and I guess are talking about us. So we just left. Very unrealistic for the party of 8 to walk in to any restaurant on Friday night at 7 and expect no wait, they knew full well we were there before them, and so did the waitress. They messed up and didn’t want to admit it. Maybe since the patio is so small limit it to smaller groups because it makes it very difficult for the waitresses and customers to get around. If you are going to be dog friendly, the patio should be for people with dogs. There was zero reason the other group HAD to be outside other than they didn’t want to wait. Very poor experience that was handled awfully, and everyone knew it. Bad move, I am a...
Read moreSo my husband and I went to this spot which we have been to a few times. We both ordered the chicken sandwich which is good, I had potatoes and collard greens and he had fries. The service was great until I saw that the collard greens had tomato sauce in them, which was not stated on the menu. The menu reads collard greens with bacon. I told the waitress, who also says she is acting manager, that I was not aware that the collard greens had tomato sauce in them because the menu did not say that they did and if it did say that I wouldn't have ordered them. She told me, in a very nasty manner, that they don't take things off the bill if you don't like them and how she's been in the food industry for 20 years and not everything they put in the food is on the menu and it's up to the customer to ask how the food is prepared. I asked her what if I were allergic to that. She said it is the customer's responsibility to state what they are allergic to as well (which HIPAA states allergies are medical conditions and do not need to be shared due to it being protected health information) and not everything they put in the food is on the menu. I find that very problematic because what if I were allergic and ate it without knowing. That's very dangerous. Needless to say, we won't be going back. They did not take the food off of the menu so I had to pay for something I did not eat because of their inability to communicate what is in their food. I left no tip, because that was the poorest service I have ever experienced and the health department will be contacting because it should be on the menu. People need to know what is in their food upon ordering. So if you have allergies or don't like or can't have certain foods it would benefit you to ask how each dish is prepared and what is in your food. Your life could depend on it....
Read moreBEWARE!!! THE CUSTOMER ISNT RIGHT!!!!! MEAL COMPLAINTS ARE SUBJECTIVE TO THE OWNER'S DESCRETION!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE POILICY!!!!! This day I ordered the dill tuna salad. Upon my first bite it had a horrible taste, so I poked around the salad to uncover the toppings and noticed rotten lettuce and cucumbers that were transparent. I returned to The Galley and spoke with the waitress. I simply said "this salad isn't working for me, and I usually get the dill tuna sandwich?" She said "ok I'll go and get Joe. Out comes "Joe" from what (I'm guessing.) walking up to me already saying "if I ate the salad he couldn't do anything." I pulled out the salad to showed him. He then told me that customer complaints are subjective and that's the policy. I repeated I simply asked for the sandwich switch. "Joe" asked me what I wanted from him? Baffled I told him how much I loved the food here and just wanted my regular sandwich. He asked me was he supposed to take a loss for the meal and I asked him was I supposed to take a loss for a bad salad, he relented and told me it would take a while to make a new sandwich because he had other orders. For clarity I repeated the policy he had just told me. I could tell he was getting upset so I then asked what did he want me to do, starve?? He then said he felt like I was trying to get the salad and a sandwich free, I asked why would I want this rotten salad. He waived me off and walked away. I stopped him and told him I wasn't comfortable with him preparing me ANYTHING. I grabbed a cheaper pre-maid meal from the fridge and I asked could I switch and brought to his attention the price difference, I didn't need the difference. He said whatever and walked...
