Tops China Restaurant — Restaurant in Richmond

We order from Top's whenever we are craving not-so-healthy Americanized Chinese food-- you know, crab rangoons, general tsao, etc. But I have gotten other things like the thai curries and they do an excellent job with those too. The folks who run that place are just really nice people. They're fast and accurate.

There have been a couple times my order wasn't accurate-- and so be warned and heed my advice: MAKE SURE YOU ARE FINDING THEIR MOST UP TO DATE MENU or simply order by the name of the item ("shrimp appetizer") and not the letter/number ("T8"), because there are older images of their menu floating around online with inaccurate numbers. In fact, I had an older paper menu in my kitchen drawer and little did I know their item combo numbers had changed until I saw my food wasn't right.

There's been a few negative reviews from some local Karens lately, so I wanted to give some insight as a frequent customer to this Tops China. We live around the corner from this location and when we're in the mood for Chinese takeout, they're our go-to. The family who runs this location is incredibly hardworking - they are there every day doing their very best to run their business. I have a ton of dietary restrictions, so I always have a complicated order where I get mixed vegetables, ask them to take out some, and sub with others, and they always do so perfectly and without question. I’ve been ordering shrimp egg foo young all my life. From other Chinese restaurants and tops China… I’ve always received 3 shrimp egg patties with my meal no matter if it was lunch or dinner the only thing that changes is the price. I ordered from this location one of my containers had 1 pattie the other has two. I feel played I spent too much money not to receive what I was due and if it changed customers should be informed of changes so they can decide if they still want that meal.
