Anytime Fitness — Local services in Richmond

ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS!!!!! I signed up for anytime fitness in January 2020. Upon my first few visits, I was really impressed. However, due to Covid-19, I moved out of the radius of any gym they had. I gave them ample notice and paid regularly up until I left. I even spoke with a rep and they said they’d cancelled my membership. Since then, I had heard nothing, and figured I had canceled it officially. Beginning March 2021 (RIGHT after we got a stimulus) I was harassed by collectors as well as some employees that said I never cancelled the membership and now owe them $980. I informed them I had the paperwork stating I cancelled and would resend it to the necessary email, to which I received a “it’s too late for that we will not take the document please pay $980” and was hung up on numerous times by reps and supervisors. I went to Forest Hill for them to respond with “don’t worry about it, it’s an issue from our previous management.” I thought nothing of it until I was harassed daily after I told them it was an error they made so I wasn’t paying. They said it’d be on my credit report in April. It is yet to appear and I stopped receiving calls as soon as I threatened bringing a lawyer into the situation. Poor management! UPDATE: I am no longer in the system for this business. They FOUND MY NUMBER and called 2x and now can’t answer their phone. 2022 UPDATE: I haven't been to this gym in about 3 years and have now caught them charging me for 2 sessions in...

New member, joined almost 2 months ago & so far I am very very happy with my experience there. It's very clean, tidy & organized. Being 24 hours was a huge plus for me since I can stop in any ol' time I want & not have to potentially worry about fighting for/over machines or equipment during peak hours. The sign-up process was smooth & quick, the price was right, they have everything I was looking for in a gym, what's not to like?

Saw a complaint about the gym's size but honestly that also works for me, since with their layout I don't have to waste moving between equipment to complete my circuit. I think of it being cozy instead of small-ish & I rather like that.

Lastly, but certainly not least, Jada (one of the managers there) is AMAZING! I sent an email a few days ago asking if I could bring in my own equipment, something small, but important for me, that I'd noticed they didn't have there. She responded within hours to let me know that I wouldn't have to bring my own, that they'd purchased one for the gym & it was on the way! I was stunned, such responsiveness, so quickly, they truly do aim to please. Not sure if I'd have gotten that type of response elsewhere, & I don't think I want to find out!

The best compliment I can give Anytime Forest Hill is, when I walk in, it feels like "home", what more could...

I have been a member since the start and the team and the equipment are exceptional. State of the Art Life Fitness machines that have Bluetooth and direct charger/connectors for both Apple and regular tablets/phones (a micro USB connector). There is also Internet access, Cable TV, games like solitaire (a personal fave, nothing seems to take my mind off the work more), full video 'courses' like biking through Paris or New Zealand with photorealistic point of view. There is an exceptional scale there, two bathrooms with full showers, and every type of free and machine weights you could want. There is also a parquet floor with balls, mats, ropes, and...a room with an automatic pull down projector on which one can cue up a variety of killer workouts...all by yourself if necessary. This gym is open 24/7 , accessed with a small lightweight fob which goes on your key chain. Also it is well used, but rarely busy like the trendy gyms, where you have to wait for a machine.
