Incredible experience! I love the variety of wines they have-- interesting enough to titillate the senses of a wine connoisseur but welcoming enough to folks taking their first dive into the wine world. I think it's the least pretentious wine shop around town while still holding down a wide selection of wines.
The charcuterie is to die for!! They slice their meats in house and have really good quick pickles. If you get a smattering of meats and cheeses, I love that a staff member will share the names and explain each component of the plate/board, if you like. Even the greens for the salad special were amazingly fresh. The high quality, well thought-through food menu that compliments their wines reminds me that they're a sister restaurant to Grisette (same owners).
The atmosphere is top notch. There's plenty of seating on the covered patio. When I first visited in cooler weather, they had space heaters outside. Note that they don't really have any tables inside to sit down-- just the standing bar in the middle of the shop, where you place your order. If you're visiting for the first time, know that you essentially enter the doors into a basement/lower level, underneath the stairs to another building. Then, you order and pop back out and up to the patio.
Parking nearby can be a bit tricky; be prepared to walk a ways from your vehicle if you're driving into town.
As for what wine to get, their selection is always rotating, but the dry sparkling wines are always a delight. Big fan of the Pra Soave that was recommended; it had a dry floral flavor with a little zippy fizz-- perfect patio white wine for a hot day. It was so good that I bought another bottle to go! Any white or rosé they have on the shelf in the shop, they also have cold, so you're not limited to what's on the board.
Definitely recommend chatting with their knowledgeable staff members to narrow down what will best fit your palate, but also because you'll probably learn something new about wine,...

Between the amazing wine selection (sold at market price) and the outstanding entrees and charcuterie, Jardin is a must go if you are in Richmond. The flavor, atmosphere, and vibes are all here. Service of food can be a bit slow, but it is entirely worth the wait.
I got the Caesar salad, mortadella, marinaded olives, a bottle of red (Chateau de Paraza 19’) and a white (Cazas Novas Avesso 22’). Not only was the food to die for, with the Caesar being my favorite, if not one of the best Caesar salads I have ever had, and the marinated olives being borderline heavenly; but the wine was unique and delectable.
I have seen a few reviews complaining about the $10 bottle charge if you want to drink your bottle at the restaurant; but when you are getting a $50 bottle for $20, the $10 doesn’t make much of a difference.
Overall, great wine selection, even better food, and an all-around amazing place to go when the weather is nice. Could not...
