Beauvine Burger Concept — Restaurant in Richmond

12/29/2022 12 noon went there for the first time for lunch and drinks. The server was pleasant, friendly and had a sense of humor. Everything was going great! I received my cheeseburger with no cheese, my husband asked our server for some cheese, she asked did I want it remade, he said no, she's not picky, she just wants cheese. I was brought a slice of cheese. We ordered two more drinks and after 20 minutes they did not show up so my husband went and asked the server where they were. Our drinks showed up and then a female showed up (she never identified herself as to her position) and asked "what was the issue?" I said there was not one. My husband said he just asked where our drinks were since he saw the bartender standing around talking and not making drinks. The female left and came back and said we needed to leave, that was husband was being rude and intimidating. My husband is 6 ft and 280....he is a large man but far from intimidating anyone, he is very sweet and polite. This female was obviously not happy about whatever but insisted we leave or she was going to call the police. She mentioned that our server had come to work to fill in for a sick server and had worked 40 hours that week. We did not have an issue with the server but she never showed back up to ask how our food was or did we need anything else. The female continued to be very unprofessional and rude to my husband. She presented us with the bill of $100.83, I gave her my credit card BUT when she brought me the receipt to sign it was $250.84, when I asked why the difference she stated I gave you the wrong bill. First let me start my review, by stating that I gave the food a 1 star rating because I never got my food. I have eaten here several times before and the food has always been amazing. I'm sure it would have been that night, but we never got it. This review is about the service we received while at the restaurant. We went to Beauvine prior to attending a show at Altria. We got there with enough time to eat leisurely and not have to rush to the theater. The host was very nice and our waitress was very nice. There were no issues with the seating or them taking our order. After waiting over 30 minutes and noticing that people that arrive after us got there food we decided to ask the waitress. She went to check and found out that our food was given to the table behind us. The table then questioned if they had gotten the right food after eating almost half of the meal. The waitress apologized and we told he that we didn't have time to order another meal at that time, because we had to be at the theater. She said she would get the manager. We heard her talking to the waitress and she stated that why did the table take wrong food which how would the waitress know? I don't even believe she was the person who was running foods to the tables. The waitress finally came back and said we could just leave. Manager never came out to apologize. Not sure if she didn't want to be bothered, but when something like this happens management should get involved and offer some sort of apology or service recovery. On Sunday 11/25, we had an out of town couple visit us and we had raved about this restaurant. Also, it was nostalgic because we are used to hang out at Texas, Wisconsin border Café back in the day! I was appalled that we had to get up from the table many times to go find someone to wait on us. There was a very tall young man, who waited on us, (he was nice), but most of the time he stood at the back of the restaurant with the other plentiful staff and talked. He never checked in with us at all. My friend from out of town had to go track somebody down to find out if she could order a drink it took forever to get anything the beer mugs were warm, staff unfriendly. The restaurant was only 1/4th occupied with diners, however at first it was simple us 4 and one other table. When our food arrived, and that took a very long time, the burgers were cold, flat, dry. The onion rings were overdone dry, and cold. My burger had no brie on it, but was supposed to. The bun was stale. I was in shock and very embarrassed that I had chosen this restaurant. I had been there many times, and never experienced this. It was not due to a lack of staff, as there were many and we were the only people there other than one other table. I usually leave a 20% tip, but left 10. Needless to say, it was quite embarrassing.
