I just had probably the worst shopping experience ever in Libbie Market. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer and I am not one to leave reviews or take things to heart, but this is truly something I cannot stop thinking about. I live very close to the store and me and my husband are frequent customers, but after this I will probably choose to go elsewhere. I went in for a few items, one being an almost $60 bottle of wine and when I went to check out the woman at the cash register (older dark/gray hair) couldn't have been more rude. I was polite and handed her my driver's license where she proceeded to roll her eyes and act completely inconvenienced and say that she did not have her glasses and that she would have to find someone else in the store to look at my ID. She was absolutely rude the entire time at check-out after that and threw my stuff in a bag and didn't even acknowledge me. This was VERY disheartening from a local, well-loved grocery store and the owners/management at Libbie Market should really re-think who they have representing...
Read moreFirst time, last time going here. I bought a few of the seemingly good quality prepared foods. I was hungry so on my way driving home I started to dig into the deviled eggs I purchased... They were ok, I make better deviled eggs. But I was hungry... On reaching for the third, I glanced at the tray and noticed a large dead grasshopper (my friends think it was a roach) on top of one of the eggs and I nearly crashed. I called the store because I had just spent $30 on a bunch of stuff and a good part of it from their prepared food section, and I was not about to eat anything ever from here again. They were very nice, even came by my house to bring me my money back... They kept telling me that they buy the eggs from another vendor and its a mix (gross, how hard is it to make this yourselves) and that they only prepare in store. This is no excuse obviously since this dead thing was sitting on top of my egg.. I feel the management did what they could but it's an experience I can...
Read moreI work for the Hubbard Peanut Company and had a delivery to Libbie Market. Everyone I met, from the two people at the loading dock, the two at the deli/sandwich counter and even the young lady at the checkout register were extremely friendly. It was almost lunchtime and I wanted to order a sandwich from the deli. I looked for a menu but couldn't see one. A woman from the opposite side walked me around and explained you can build your own sandwich by filling out a form with probably 30+ options! I ordered roast beef with onions, roasted red peppers, pepper jack cheese and a horseradish sauce on a toasted ciabatta bun. It was fantastic. The roast beef was shaved so thin, even though it was stacked about an inch thick, you could bite through it like butter! All the rest of the toppings were generously portioned too. I should of took a pic because it was photo worthy. Can't wait until I make...
