It really pains me to write a mediocre review, as I've been coming here for over 15 years. The quality has gone down in the past year or two. The servings are so small now and the food taste/quality is inconsistent. For example, I always get the hummus tabouli wrap and it's half the size it used to be with hardly any hummus in sight sometimes. I usually have to order a side of hummus to go with it, which adds to the fee. The bowls of chili (which are great!) are also super small now, as are the portions of other sides (hummus, tabouli, rice, etc.). The quality of things such as chicken is hit-or-miss. I usually order my food to go and lately I feel as if I'm a burden to the staff when I call to place my order, and it is not always correct. I love and have been recommending this restaurant for years but it's hardly worth the expense anymore. It used to be one of my favorite places in Rva due to the plentiful vegetarian options. Will happily update this to 5 stars across the board if it returns to the stellar quality that it used to be only a...
Read moreToday was my second time here. When I arrived I was told i could order there or at my table. I sat down for a few to look at the menu. Got up and placed my order at the counter. The person at the counter brought me my drink. A little later she brought my wrap I had ordered, but not the potatoes. I sat patiently though and started on the wrap. A few minutes later the cook placed my potatoes at the window to be served and she ignored it. I watched them sit there until the cook seemed frustrated and brought them to me himself. I thanked him and he went back to cooking. I was hoping the waitress would check on my table, but she was talking to one person the entire time I was there. My wrap was missing cucumbers but I didn’t want to burden the cook as he seemed quite busy. It still tasted fine ; I ate most of it and all of the potatoes. Just wish it had been a more welcoming...
Read moreI really liked the food here, and will probably be back because of it; HOWEVER, when I went I was with someone who has a psychiatric service dog and the bartender (a slender woman with shoulder-length blonde hair) asked for proof of the dog’s service animal status—which is illegal.
The person I was with was already experiencing heightened symptoms associated with his condition, and this interaction did not help. The dog was quietly assisting her caregiver, and the interaction was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. It made me incredibly uncomfortable, as it was quite awkward. I work in customer service myself, and while everyone else there was absolutely fantastic, this woman made me feel hesitant to recommend this...
